Well, I'm back like a crack addict.
This time I'm trying to see if I can scalp for ticks and not get destroyed when a horse falls over. I won't bore you with the details but if I make anything I will be sure to let you know.Comment

Update for 9th to 15th March.
For the next few races I tried to look at reducing my risk and increasing the reward as before I had high risk, low reward and it was 50/50 whether I would make profit or not in the end despite a promising start of something like 90% win rate. Note: I was holding until the end of the race.

The last few trades I just got unlucky. But it's put me off as I just couldn't "feel" the race and profit from it by holding out until the end.
So I pared it right back to 10p stakes and tried to aim for 20 ticks, scratching trades if I felt I was wrong.

Decided I ought to stay away from shorter races as it got too volatile for me to be able to trade in and out.
So, stuck to longer races, trying to trade for 20 ticks but taking less or scratching if I could sense the market was gonna move against me. Encouraged by yesterday's success, used 20p stakes.

That's better. Made some judgement errors eg exiting a bit sooner but it did spike up about 15 ticks after I exited so I read the market right I guess.Comment

I think it is very wise to use pennies when experimenting with in play. I did that until I got confident.
I like in play, keeps the blood pressure high.
My results today. There are a few tiny small punts here but the rest is in running. A couple of "certainties" turned into real shockers, but that is the game.
It's all about risk and reward and money management. This could easily have been a £100+ plus day, those happen more often than the losers and the graph continues its upward trend.
I made I mistake or two so what, not bothered as it keeps my feet on the ground.:Stupid
Up for the week and the month so I must be doing something right.
If you stick with the same thing long enough it becomes automatic. That's what practice is all about.
The reality of this game is in my humble opinion, that losing is in effect the norm and until one can grasp that and deal with it emotionally one can not be a winner.
Small losses big wins. No need to buy a book. That's it.
