So, every year for the past 10(?), the Australian champions travel over to England to contest the World Club Challenge. This game is played during the English season but before the Aussies kick off and so England have an advantage which is further aided by the fact that the Aussies have in the past not treated the comp. with respect.
That said, last year Manly came over, treated it appropriately and ran away with the game in the first half. There is no doubt that the Aussies are the superior team although Leeds' bad run is irreleant as regular readers of my spiel will know.
When the markets were first formed, both teams were level. Melbourne are now at 1.7. So the value is with Leeds?
Wrong!
This game all depends upon the commitment from the Aussies and that will take 20 mins to judge. By then, the juicy prices will be gone but you should still be able to profit. Adding to this fact is that this game usually attracts good liquidity. This makes draw trading a very attractive proposition. (High profile games usually see the draw pushed out as money buyers emerge.)
Last year, the Aussies started at 1.6 after similarly starting at around evens when the market first opened. Will the price drop that far? I don't know - but I hope so!

Melbourne into 1.63. Why did I lay off at 1.7!!!
Anyway, I love the draw but it's too short. Money buyers should send it up past 30 before kick off. At least I hope so, but in a 1.6 game, the draw has no business being below 30. Really, it should be 40+ but there seems to be more draw backers these days... why?
