  • 1.1f error with one tick offset.

I often use the tick offset function, to fire back in the counter-trade quicker than I can blink.

Since using 1.1f, I have had an odd error probably 4-5 times now. I can't be sure, but think it's only been when placing a lay bet first (which I do 80% of the time)

There seems to be a brief freeze and an error message window pops up saying 'Exposure calculation in progress'. (think that the actual wording - it does not stay on screen long)

The lay bet gets matched OK and then when the counter-trade back goes in, it does not place the whole stake. Just as an example, the one that happened earlier this evening was a £40 lay and the back bet it placed was only £8. This time I was lucky and the price moved further out and I clicked the green figure at top of the ladder to green up evenly.

Not seen any other comments about a similar problem for anyone else. The Toy is otherwise working as it should, as far as I can see. I'm using Windows 7 (32 bit) and computer otherwise working fine and fast.

Same here. I encountered the same thing during last few days. I have had to manually up the lay stake (I backed to lay).

Glad to see it's not just me that getting it. Very first trade of the day today and it happened again.

      Any thoughts Mr Geek?

I've not had this problem since the last time I posted about it in this thread - but then today it happened twice on me this afternoon. Same message on screen about 'exposure calculation' and a sort of brief freeze and then bet (back or lay) shows up on the Toy, but the tick-offset counter-trade does not get placed.

It's a bit of a pain and I was hoping somebody might have a solution. Is it a bug in the program? If it is, it's done it to me in both versions f and g. :WTF

The error you are getting is a Betfair one. For some reason the counter bet(s) is / are being rejected by them.

My guess is you are trading with most of if not all of your bank, which can cause that error once in a while. Why you haven't noticed before I suspect is that prior to the Training mode release, these errors weren't being reported and the bets would have failed without the error message.

Thanks for the reply Mr Geek.

I'm not certain now, after the event, what % of my bank was being used. I do try to lay first, as I find it easier to get the counter trade matched that way. I use pre-set staking buttons, so it's unlikely that one would happen to equal the whole bank. I do sometimes use a high % of bank in the initial lay though. I'll have to look out next time it happens and can post the answer up here.

Interesting that you say that it used to happen without an error message. That is correct, in that I can recall times when not all of the counter-trade has been placed and I've not know why that was. I've not actually used the training mode since you introduced it, so not sure where that part comes in. Anyway, thanks for the reply and looks like it can go down on that long list of problems that are down to Betfair. It's a pain though, so hope they can fix it.

Training mode was just a reference to the release where the bet error reporting was improved as well. They are not connected other than that.
