  • Keep bets

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask?

Assuming the price for this event is 2.5 right now, I would want to place a back bet at price 3.0, and I want to place another lay bet at 1.5

Lastly, I want to place another lay bet at price 5,

I would like to find out if it is possible to do so?

The bets that I have placed must not be cancelled once the event is in play or suspended.

    Can someone advise?

Hi, it is the right place to ask.

You can do that in different ways. One of them is to put your bets on, and on the ladder, right-click on the column where the bets appear for every selection that you have put a bet on and select "all in play keep".
If you only want some of your bets to be kept in play, right-click on those bets and select "keep in play".
I don't know if it's what you'r asking in the last part of your post, but if the market is suspended and Betfair clear all the bets like after a goal, those bet won't be kept.

      hi,

      thanks for the reply.

I think i cannot place a lay bet above the current price. I meant the lay bet would be matched to the current price even though i state a higher price.

why is that so? is there some configurations to be done?

I understand that once you have selected keep all, the unmatched bets would still be there once the match are in play or suspended. can someone confirm on this?

Another thing i like to check is what is the difference for market make and market take under the bet submission?

-When you lay higher, or back lower, than the current best offers, you will always get matched at the current best price. And really, I can't see why someone would want it to be otherwise.

-Yes, "all in play keep" will keep the bets after the market is turned in play, but not after the market is suspended after a goal.

-You might want to read the manual for that and other questions you might have. Just click the ? on top of the appropriate window. In market make, when placing bets you make offers to others to take. I suppose in market take you can only take offered prices, but I have never tried.

          Hi,

Guess i have to test out first. I recall someone told me that if i keept the bet, the bet would not be cancelled even when the match go suspended. Can anyone confirm this?

The reason i ask if it possible to lay at high price than the current price is that i want my bets to loss at a min amt.

Yes, that's the case with "kept" bets - such bets are not cancelled when market is suspended and usually it works against you as you are then getting worse match than current market price (I suppose the market is swept by BF itself and they pocket the difference).

Hi, I also have the same doubt.

I want to keep a bet, even if an event is suspended. Is there any way to do that. To bet, and to keep the bet even if there is a goal?
