Woke up this morning to read some most amazing posts.

I am sure that the quality of this product has contributed to me being now able to trade on a full time basis and earn a living as such. I am more than happy to make a small contribution whether it be for charity or to cover TG costs.

We are also provided with a fantastic forum to share ideas and provide daily amusement.

Japan is on the brink of nuclear disaster following the earthquake and tsumami, Christchurch NZ suffered major damage from earthquake and in my home state of Queensland Aust. many people have suffered from floods and a severe cyclone. Yet I read here people bitching about paying 10 pounds to charity.

F**king unbelievable. Thats my 10 pounds worth.

This thread brings back memories from the old days when everyone was bashing each other on boards. Oh snap, everyone still does that. It's amusing how everyone can be a hero on the interwebz.

Millionaire Fund, you got it right about me. I'm a bastard who doesn't want to do charity work and this is one of the few charities that i have done (no sarcasm there). And even that only 5 pounds. Altough i see this as a donation to the Geek for his wonderful software, not that much as donation to charity. Nonetheless, i have done atleast the minimum for this charity and now i can sleep at night.

I dont see how what state japan is in has to do with whether to donate or not. By not donating here, we are indicating that we dont give a shit about the thousands of people over there?

Why is it that anyone who seems to not want to donate is immediately labelled an uncaring, selfish spawn of satan who doesnt deserve to be in the same room as all the "good" guys?

You may not mind being guilt tripped into putting money in the bucket, but some other people dont like it. Whos to say that your not donating just so that you look good, while ur really sitting there thinking " F**king charity cases and freeloaders, why dont they f**k off and get a job"

                  spot on mate

but, please, do not forget to take your daily medicaments anyway...

I'd feel sorry for you if your tomorrow's trading performance were affected by such carelessness

No: by not donating one prices one's own value of The Toy to zero.

                    Period.

PS: @The Geek: as much as I may watch with a soft spot to the "charity" initiative, I must say that I'd rather keep the 2 things well separated. and just for mere and cold calculation:

have another couple of weeks per year "at random", that is not linked to any charitable stuff, to shut The Toy down to non-donors.
                    let's see what happens.

Quite shocked at some the responses on here over 10 quid... after all it is for charity... and its cheltenham week, potentially a monkey could have their money back in as many minutes.

I don’t think that’s what some people (myself included) have a problem with. It’s just that some others seem to be unhappy that they have to give some money to use the software. If you don’t like that, you don’t have to use it - it’s just that the toy is probably the best API software there is. I agree that just giving money to a charity is sometimes not the most worthwhile contribution people can make. Giving ones time can be far more valuable and useful, but surely it’s not a bad idea to give a little. If you can’t afford to, then that’s fine too - just wait a few days and start using the toy again.

I don’t agree with the geek bashing from some people. He has always seemed to be perfectly honourable and decent both here and on other forums. Also, a lot of the people on here give a lot of good advice to help people. This is not in their best interests. It doesn’t make sense for me, from a purely financial stand point, to help anyone. If you’re a successful trader over a period of time, the person matching your money is making a mistake. That’s why all ebooks, systems, etc are just scams. Even if they were successful, they would eventually fail precisely because of their success.

I have always said that I think the geek should charge for the toy. I appreciate that some traders are new and some others may not make very much money, and that’s fine - we all had to start somewhere. The trouble is, when you don’t charge for something, you seem to get an attitude from some people that they’re entitled to use the software.

I have to agree that the people who are complaining about not getting to use the toy for a week are missing the point. Its the geeks program, he gets to choose the rules.

"after all it is for charity". That makes it compulsory then?

and please dont go making out that trading is easy and a monkey could do it. Im sure I saw u not long ago say that you were only just break even from trading since whenever you started a year and a half ago.

This lack of respect and understanding, comes from the lack of intelligence in some areas (not all). I'd say 85% of the population is just too dumb to understand how "the world" works.
