  • Running Geeks Toy on a Windows VPS?

I currently have no Windows computers; simply a MacBook Air and a Linux workstation. I've been looking around at the various trading applications and Geek Toy looks the best though, so naturally I'd like to give it a go.

I know I could run a Windows VM to run Geeks Toy, but I'd rather not - I already run around 3 virtual machines (as a software developer) and I'd quite like to run GT in something which is going to be a bit more stable. So I'm thinking of renting a Windows VPS and installing it on there, and using it via Remote Desktop.

I've seen someone else mention doing this on the forum, and I was wondering if there's any potential issues I should be aware of?

    Cheers!

It'll work on a VPS, but you could also buy a cheap PC (No monitor required) and use remote desktop to run the Toy on that the same as you would on a VPS.

It would probably be better spec and faster unless you are going to spend a lot on a VPS.

There is no advantage from the VPS having a lower ping as you still have to get the data to/from your mac over your ISP connection.
If you want more luck... Take more chances!
