Hi. I don't know if this helps or not, but I found a couple of articles where the founder of smarkets.com was interviewed.

No plans to implement any kind of premium charge - we want to be fair to everyone.

Ask your 3rd party app provider to integrate with us, we do allow this.

I remember offering to adapt The Toy for smarkets a year or so ago but they weren't too excited about it and admitted their API isn't suited for trading applications.

I have this impression that they want to be a betting exchange but don't want to have any traders as clients since traders don't generally provide much liquidity, take money from all other casual gamblers and then withdraw it to their bank accounts and don't keep the money in the exchange.

I think it's nonsense to suggest traders do not provide liquidity. Where does the trader's money go, can it be found hiding under a blanket!?

Furthermore, not all traders are successful and as such will leave value on the table for punters.

Would be great to have some software for smarkets.Their site is slow and clunky.Have only traded cricket so far,it is manageable.Tennis will be a nightmare.

The reallity is that the traders provides MUCH MORE liquidity than the regular punters. How many punters may make bets from 1000 quid for example? Because a lot of traders trade with such a stakes. But remember - they close their bet, so they 1st enter with for example 500 - than get out with 500 again ? Isn't that much more than a punter who has 7-10 stakes to make same profit as the trader with 500 stakes?

Just came across a post at Peters where someones saying they've had their account closed by smarkets for winning £20K over a 6 month period, be interesting to hear Smarkets take on this considering they're more than happy to post when it suits them.

                            Hi guys,

We can't say much without the user's permission, but I can categorically say that we do not close accounts for having large P&Ls.

For what it's worth, a £20k P&L would not be in the top 10.
