VPS and UK account

Hi,

I want to start to use the betfair API. It will be easier for me (and also faster !) if I use a VPS (like linode or tagadab).
Is it possible to use a VPS with betfair ? Or they don't allow that ? Do you need to live in the country where the VPS is or not, because I will use one from England (I can move to England soon but not right now).

And I want to avoid malta round trip. If I'm right I need a UK account. But what are the minimal requirements to have a UK account :
- just an UK address ?
- UK address and UK credit card ?
- UK address and UK bank account ?
- UK passport ? (that would be very difficult ...)
- something else.

I searched the forum but I didn't find the answer (although I'm pretty sure it has already been discussed here).

So if you have time to answer (even a small one).

I have a UK address/bank account but live in Spain so have to bypass Betfair`s country restrictions,i do this by using a VPN as opposed to a VPS,which i can do successfully,i think Betfair know from my actual I.P address bands what i am up to but do not seem to care too much as i am generating them commission[since using the VPN i have never been offered any Betfair promos which i used to get very regularly,maybe i am being paranoid,who knows]

You have a UK address/bank but live in spain. My plan to do that is to move to england when possible (soon normally), but (if you can answer of course) how did you solve that : do you have friends in UK ? ...

I'm using a VPN (not with betfair) but a VPS gives a faster response time if you use one in london (linode, tagadab ...). And it can be on, even if your personnal computer is off. (and you have a UK IP address also, like a VPN, if you chosse one in UK).
But I don't know if betfair allow them event if betangel sells a solution with a VPS, so I think it's ok...

Sorry i did not make my reply clear-i am a UK citizen,born in UK but decided to live in Spain 2 years ago.Here is the link for Betfair`s "know your customer":

What if -you`re in Ireland ? Is it still considered as an UK account to bypass Malta?

No one knows about Irish accounts? If it`s directly connected to BF London server or has Malta re-direction?

IMO even simpler option is to get Amazon's EC2 instance, running in EU zone, which in fact is Ireland.
And I'd back a dollar that BF itself is running in Amazon's cloud!
I got round-trip delays about 35-40 ms on tests, using bogus micro-instance and python script as gear, fetching heavy market profiles, which points that ping is less than 10 ms.
