  • placing multiple lays at LTP

Sorry if this has been covered before.

I want to place a lay bet in play at 16.0 on every market.

How can I do this automatically, and only when 16.0 is reached? Obviously don't want to do this manually.

If I do it before OFF then I will end up laying most of the field.

I guess I want a way of laying 16.0, when it is the LTP last traded price in play.

    Thanks for any help

I don't think Betdaq makes any difference. Obviously, you understand what you are trying to say but others might be confused so they haven't replied. Please consider rewriting your original post so as to be specific. Little clues like what markets, horses or something else, would be helpful because as things stand I'm sure none of us here understands you.

        Thanks for the reply custard.

        Ok.

I want to lay only drifters in horse racing. Only in-play.

My rules are I will lay drifters at 16.0, and green out at 17.5. Before the off when I place bets, I will not lay anything that is above 16.0.

        Example:SP of runners

        horse 1 - 1.77
        horse 2 - 3.8
        horse 3 - 9
        horse 4 - 20

So if I laid the field just before the off at 16.0, it would match the first 3 at their SP,(which is not what I want), and not manage to lay horse 4.

I want AGT to lay any runner that has drifted in-play at 16s, only when it has reached 16.0 (LTP).

I would not lay horse 4 at all as it is above my chosen lay price and I don't want to lay a runner who's price is shortening.

Basically I need the program to know when the LTP is 16.0, then execute a lay at that price.

I'm worried Betdaq doesn't display LTP on it's site. I don't want to use Bet Angel and Excel if possible.

I'd like to be able to load up the racing markets in the morning, leave the computer on and go to work- then come home to unimaginable wealth and Kelly Brook cooking my dinner naked.

        Is this possible?

No, it is not possible. You have no idea which horses you will be backing when you go to work. You need software which will monitor the market and make decisions for you and so automated software is the only solution.

Your chosen strategy will give small returns in the majority of races and you run the risk of high payouts. I've seen Tony McCoy drift from 4 to 25 and win the race. It might prove to be a winner but I'm not convinced especially in races with big fields or flat racing sprint races.

My advice is to learn The Toy and model your strategies around what it can do for you rather than the other way around.

Smudge, you can easily do exactly what you want in automated software just do a search there's a few about. Even the multibet tool in the toy might work have a go in practice mode.

To be honest though is it worth it? because the risk vs reward is poor. I'm not sure what stakes you have in mind, but even at £5 you're looking at a £75 loss if it wins for a 40p ish return? I'm sure that you will hit a lot of winners but it's inevitable that one of your lays will win in the end.

I'm interested to see how it performs so I might try and automate it in test mode.

But you would be better off using that £75 in the Toy and trading manually when you get time, for more reward and less risk.

Hi Wilf, thanks for the reply.

I know what you are saying- but the method I've asked about isn't exactly what I'm planning to do. I'm sure I have an edge with a similar scenario, but the key to it is being able to lay at LTP automatically.

I've tried Bet Angel for betdaq and found the guardian facility really difficult to make work on multiple markets.

I'm looking at other bots to do the job.

AGT though is a real find though for manual betting and we are fortunate that such a facility exists for free.
