Geeks Toy -V- Bet Angel Review

Hi,

I've been using BetAngel for months now but have heard a lot of good things about Geeks Toy (especially the price)

My question is how does it compare in response times to Bet Angel? With Bet Angel Professional sometimes there can be lag, is it the same with the toy? If somebody could give me a decent Geeks Toy vs Bet Angel professional review that would be great.

Dont try to compare them. Geeks Toy is from other galaxy.Is the best.

Cran { who used to be a Bet Angel professional user } did a side by side comparison / review on his blog some time back.

If you watch the second video, you can see that at the same refresh rate in some cases Bet Angel Professional was taking up to 3 seconds longer to display the data from Betfair. This can be seen at it's clearest when the last bet is being matched in the second video.

One of the pro traders did quite a comprehensive review here for me as well.

Other than that, I shall leave it to the users to tell you.

Best thing to do though is install it & see how it performs for you.

EDIT: Has anyone noticed that if you put "Bet Angel Professional Review" into Google that apart from this thread, most of the Bet Angel Reviews out there are written by Bet Angel themselves. { They all either say "Rolls Royce" or "Swiss Army Knife" }

The type of software you use will be determined by your style of trading. BetAngel is better than Evolution. Nevertheless, both are slower than The Geeks Toy in placing bets. I did some tests a long time ago now and these showed that The Geeks Toy also used less bandwidth than its competitors.

I suspect that if you use The Geeks Toy, read the manuals, and customise The Geeks Toy so that it suits all your requirements, you will not use any other type. Just try it, it has the advantage of having forum users who are willing to offer help in practical terms in using the software.

Thanks for the responses, lots of interesting reading.

I'm running both Bet Angel and the toy side by side just to run some comparisons and the toy is very impressive.

Does anybody know if running both side by side will make me vulnerable to transaction charges from betfair?

Running the toy and Bet Angel side by side for a short time wont put you into charge territory, however to run for more than a few minutes, unless you restrict both apps to < 10 calls per second to Betfair you may incur a charge.

The discussion here will be one-sided. Its the Geeks toy forum after all (but as I don't have an experience with Bet Angel I can not tell you which software is better ). They say Geeks Toy is better - maybe they are right. However here will be the only place to get some answers. If you try to publish such a thread in Bet Angel forums it will be deleted for seconds

Hey you cant get more objective than "Best thing to do though is install it & see how it performs for you."

And besides if you look around the various places in cyberspace, not one person has ever said Bet Angel Professional is faster than GeeksToy.

Have to say I'm very impressed!

Its simple but very effective, I've just played around on the last 2 races in the ladder mode and its very easy to use and so compact. Everything I need to see is on 1 screen, with Bet Angel Professional I have to spread it across 2.

I'll try a full days trading with it tomorrow but so far its just as good if not better than Bet Angel.
