Commission deducted

Up until a short time ago the Toy calculated to the penny what commision was going to be taken off winning bets on Betfair.

Now it is off by as much as 2-3%

Is this a glitch in the toy or a Betfair problem

Yes noticed this as well lately, think its betfair, have been using the same geeks toy version for a while

Could it be something to do with your commission discount? The Toy may just deduct 5% but your actual commission is 4.5%. Not sure though.

Def not that..I haven't been on 5% for years it always took the exact amount off before that showed on each individual bet...

Nothing has changed in GT, so it sounds like Betfair may have changed something. I will ask them.

Thanks you may have better luck than me as I already did ask and they replied "Thank you, this is not something that we would really look into on our end George since the right amount is being deducted. Can you please get in touch with the API provider please?"

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you regarding this.

In terms of the commission deducted please can you ask the customer to contact us directly with an example of the specific behaviour they are seeing & how/where they are noticing the 2/3% difference?

I'll need to look at the customers account directly to establish their commission rate and confirm the specific transaction/s that they are referring to.

No misunderstanding. Since I started using the Geeks Toy it was always be spot on when calculating the net amount of a possible win after Betfair deducted their commission.


Then out of the blue it went wonky and was showing the wrong amount on the Toy but was still deducting the correct amount.

The way I bet this was extremely annoying so I contacted the Geek who referred me to the agent at Betfair.


Turned out someone at Betfair got mixed up (probably during maintenance)thought I was on the UK rate and changed the message they were relaying to the Toy.

Their guy when I first contacted him assumed I was in the UK until I informed him I was no longer a UK resident and never have been during my time with Betfair.

Within minutes of him realizing their mistake it was corrected.
