This thread is very unclear for me, probably because of my not the best english.
Is it about the toy? Should we all change passwords?

This software starts with an 'A', as in 'A Geeks Toy Pro'.
Is it really geeks toy pro?
First of all if the software spoken of was AGT, I believe, you wouldn't hear about this issue in this forum unless it was for an apology and with a solution for the problem.
Secondly looks to me that Paul and Richard have shown that they really care about not only their costumers but for betfair's overall. I think that the software talked about is not even a real competitor for AGT so this doesn't look like a commercial move by TG.
From my research I believe that the software spoken of could be a reason of pride for some Portuguese fellow programmers but with this issue it not only makes me doubt the integrity of the software it self but also of the people behind it. They should know betterAnd I say no more

but the most alarming fact is that betfair itself doesnt care about this problem! imagine: they know about this grave security problem and they ignored it for some days. cant believe it..

Glad someone in Portugal thinks that way.We have tried to do this "quietly" with Betfair initially because it is so severe and did need attention. { There were a couple of other serious privacy / legal breaches this vendor was making that we stumbled across & quietly advised Betfair of that were ultimately rectified. } We don't feel the software provider to be malicious, just inexperienced and somewhat incompetent.
Our frustration with Betfair is everything that has come since, inclusive of the fact they read the eMail to me on Thursday that they said they finally would be sending to affected customers yesterday.
And then yesterday, they said nothing nor came back to us on why people weren't told. Whilst Richard & I are angry as the password change and this issue has / will cost us a lot of time, it's the fact that Betfair hide behind their T&Cs and tell you it's your fault if your account gets compromised and emptied because of a problem that may have been caused by "certified" software. Throw in some interesting ass covering that's been going on from the second the product was taken offline, coupled with what we percieve to be preferential treatment for this vendor, the fact it wasn't pulled ASAP & that neither Betfair or the vendor themselves have advised users to change their passwords in over a week, and we are seriously angry about this.![]()

I really cant believe it that nor betfair nor the software-vendor didnt/dont react to this severe problem. impossible to believe. some of us has 3000-5000-10000 in their accounts.
so you could feel free to tell the name of the product as you have tried everything to resolve this problem "quietly". if "quietly" doesnt work, "loudly" will do.
Definitely incompetent, how would someone think to make public any piece of critical software as those that deal with money and personel information without making several extensive debugging. If it was not made we can only call them incompetent but if they just neglected the issue we can call them anything
They would make me mad... I understand your feelings
I think you did the right thing bringing the issue to the public. Of course Betfair will always find a way to get out of it if something serious happens to anyone's account but at least there is proof of betfair's compliance and inappropriate behaviour towards client protection.
I thank you for that.
