I remember from the past Andy had problem with some of his matches played before lunch time. It takes him longer to wake up than other players LOL

1st set ended up 1-6 for Mayer.

the market went crazy pricing Andy 2.54 / Mayer 1.5/1.6

but looking at the 1st set stats one could see that the difference was actually tiny and that the score wasn't telling the whole story.

plus a slow starting by Murray (before lunch...) is something that happens quite often, as you mentioned.

on top of that one could easily see (live vid obviously) Andy starting to push on the throttle already in the last 2 games of the 1st set (and Mom seated over there with that sort of glance along the lines: "You now wake up kiddo or you'll have to deal with me..."). Laying Mayer at that point was obvious to me. Max red liability along the match abt 300, as the final trades backing Murray on the way down were done risking mainly the green already raked

Was a good match to trade. I think the market went a bit crazy with Murray failing to hold to force Mayer to serve for the set (if I remember correctly!). There seemed to be some big money coming in for Mayer throughout the first set.
