Morning all. Its the silly season here with the Big Bash 20 overs Cricket competition in full swing.International cricketers can be included in the local sides so Ian Bell and Stuart Broad plus Freddie Flintstone in the commentary box are some of the English contingent that are enjoying Christmas in Oz.
Racing is disjointed at this time of year with South Australian racing at Gawler today and Melbourne racing at Sandown Hillside. Lets see if we pluck a few winners again today.

    R9 no 2 Ziggy Willie 2nd

    ASCOT:
    R7 no 8 Dark Musket...each way 3rd

    LAY BETS
R5 No 9 Bassett Ran 2nd. Lay bet won
MR7 no 6 Hardern Ran 2nd. Lay bet won
SR5 no 9 Madame De Ban Ran 3rd. Lay bet won

Australia has some interesting rules regarding betting in-play. There has been a lengthy debate over the effect of such laws and how much of our gambling dollar is lost to overseas operators. Its a silly situation where I can bet on a horse race right up to the winning post but I cant bet in play on a five day Test cricket match.
For those who like reading proposed Bills of Legislation here is the latest attempt to resolve this issue.
