The Fast Pics are on the right side screen, the SIS pics are on the middle screen and the ATR pics are on the left screen. The race was from Meydan on 21st November 2013.

The Fast Pics are approximately 2.6 seconds ahead of SIS and 6.5 seconds ahead of ATR.

The "fast pics" on the right screen were taken from a satellite feed that was a direct uplink from the Meydan track.

I am not sure what other description you would give to the "fast pics", they are ahead of SIS and ahead of ATR. When people refer to "fast pics" then my understanding is that the pictures on the right screen in the video are the type they are referring to. However, I could be wrong on that point so if they are not what people call "fast pics" then apologies for not describing them correctly.

Believe it or not, I do not use horse racing "fast pics" personally and have no interest in doing so. I made the video and provided the link to it to show how much disadvantage the punter is at if they use ATR for In-Running betting. There is an often rolled out comment along the lines of "fast pics are good but they are no replacement for skilled race reading". Well, suppose a good skilled race reader is using "fast pics", the guy at home using ATR is at a terrible disadvantage.

Of course the fast pics from Meydan did not appear just appear on my TV, I came across them when checking out some fast pics for other sports that I am interested in. The technology I use for other sports fast pics also happened to pick up the Meydan fast pics.

It is up to you if you wish to phone Meydan on Monday morning, I would guess that they would not disclose the details to you on how to get the pictures. However, if I could fathom it out after a fair amount of effort searching the internet then I am sure you could do the same, it will save you the cost of a phone call to Meydan.

Why would it be a joke, I came across them when looking for some fast pics for another sport.

Go any buy some top end satellite kit and then spend a few days reading up on the topic on the internet, you will get sorted out.

Just about twenty years ago I was interested in satellite TV and studied it a little. Things have moved on a lot since then. Now it's not just a matter of finding a data feed from a particular satellite but it also requires the decryption of that data. Few can afford the necessary technology to do this.

You are correct, however, I would say that costs are possibly not as high as they used to be. It's a balance, do the returns justify the outlay on technology? For some sports the fast pictures do have the possibility of good returns, other sports are not so good.

Even with the fast pictures, the user can be a second or so behind the money from the courtsiders. Horse racing and tennis are examples where the fast pic boys are still behind the money from the courtsiders. Sure, they are not as far behind the money as watching on Sky and there is still some money about. I suppose it depends on the users betting strategy, if they are a trader or placing keep bets and not trading out.

I make a point of being "correct". In fact, I cannot remember an occasion when I have been wrong. Having been prompted to consider this issue in greater depth, I am drawn to the conclusion that "ordinary people" are quite unable to receive said "fast pictures" , not only because of cost but, because most are not competent hackers.

If receiving such pictures was easy, nobody would be paying for Sky Sports/Movies.
