  • Bug with account balance after trading

    Hi,

I open this new thread as I'm testing the software in training mode, and I didn't find any other one about the bug I encounter.
Actually when I trade in training mode the software doesn't credit the account balance with the suitable profit, the calculations are wrong... I can join some screenshots I've maid since yesterday to be more explicit if needed...

Sorry for my English which may not be so good

The Toy does not know the results of events when it is in training mode and cannot keep a balance. No bug. If you make a search of the forum you will find many threads similar to the one you started. The training mode is meant to be of help to beginners in learning the basics and it is not supposed to be used for testing strategies.

Well I searched with some key words in google
Actually I agree that training mode is meant to be of help for beginners and not supposed to ne used for testing strategies, and that's not what I'm doing, I already have my ownn strategies and just want to practice a little bit in training mode before playing with real money...

And I also understand that The Toy is not aware of the results of events, but it keeps a balance in my case even if wrongly... That's why I attached the three screenshots as examples. Looks like it takes only the second line of a trade in account for balance when playing on a defined market.

I.e., on the screenshot of the match between Manchester United and A. Villa, we may suppose that it took in account the second or third line of the "profit/loss" window for balance. But if you look at the "Match_Odds" screenshot, one can conclude that The Toy takes only in account the second line of the "Profit/Loss" window for balance. I concluded the same thing right now with playing on an other soccer match right now...

So I'm aware that the software doesn't have informations of results in training mode, and thus can't make a real appropriate account balance, but then why does it calculate the final amount based on this second line od "Profit/loss" window, even this should be positive or negative balance sheet...?

Do a search on the forum and all the information you desire is there for you. The images you have provided are too small to see but, in any event, they are unimportant. The training mode can do simple calculations when backing and laying on the same market but for single bets on any market it cannot do anything for the reason already given. Use real money as soon as possible and do not be tempted to use stakes which fall below the Betfair minimum requirement. Trading with real money is not like trading with "Mickey Mouse" money and you will learn very little about trading using the training mode. Its sole purpose is to be an aid to understanding how the software works.

Well I don't know, the images display well for me (about 1400x600), doesn't matter anyway... We'll see the true story when I start trading with real money indeed... Btw, a better advice would have been to tell me to be aware not to play more than a % of my bankroll as only few people usually use to play with stakes which fall below Betfair minimum requirement, I mean you don't subscribe on Betfair to play stakes of 2,3,5 €... Makes no sense at my opinion...

By the way thank you for having replied.

I did not give this advice as it would have been silly. If your judgment tells you that you have a winning trade, why should you only put a small percentage of your bank on it ? I was sure that there would be goals in the Chelsea game today and put 50% of my bank on the outcome. I would have been very annoyed if I had only placed 5%.

Don't get me wrong, everyone has their own methods ... I prefer the long-term security, although sometimes there are risks that can be taken easily, it's all about personal's appreciation.

EDIT : when I said few %, I was talking about global behaviour to adopt if someone wants to keep a positive bankroll on long-term

1, in training mode toy dont knows who won, so it takes into account smallest amounts available, in case of man utd - aston it would be -648$, no matter if man utd won and on real money you would win 118$. in djokovic - isner toy would add 68$ to your bankroll, smallest available profit, no matter who win. if you want accurate results, use excel. or press hedge button

2, training mode is not suitable for testing strategies[<-----read it again 6 times], because in this mode its very easy to be matched, while in real world everything would be significantly different, times to be matched, bot responses to your bets, and even more important, your own psychology, resistance to stress is complete different in real world. believe me, even best strategy wont help you, if you freak out after losing five bucks
