I experienced a glitch last night, which has happened once before, but I'm not sure where the fault lies.
I'm running Geeks Toy for Betfair on windows 8 RP, connected on BT Infinity 80mb fibre, with a wired connection to my PC.
I was scalping the U 6.5 market on Germany Greece, when the score was 4 - 1, with tick offset on, and everything was fine. However when I went to hedge (on the ladder, hedging the selection), nothing happened ! Or to be more precise, I have 'confirm' on, and the confirm windows popped up, I clicked it, and expected the countdown to show, but it didn't. I waited about 30 seconds, and though maybe a pressed cancel, so I did it again - and again no countdown appeared. I waited again, as I know that sometimes there can be a delay, and was wary of doing it a third time in case three ended up being placed, but in the end did it a third time (again nothing) and was just reaching for my phone to try and do it on betdroid, when Greece scored and the Market suspended.
So I swore, closed down the toy, and reopened it, went to the market, which was still just in the green, so hedged again, and this time it worked as expected.
I don't think my connection dropped, as while I was waiting, I went to a couple of websites, and they worked, and never got a timeout message from the toy, which I would have expected in such cases, so I don't know if this is a software problem or not.
I guess the moral is to have a backup, but is this likely to be a software problem - or does the issue lie elsewhere ??
