    Hi,
there used to be a file called errorlog.txt in the toy folder... is it still there, or anything equivallent cos I can't find it. Just been trading and around 30 sec before the off, the toy just stopped responding. Completely. Leaving me with exposure of 2k. I don't know what happened ... maybe my internet froze or vpn stopped, I disonnected vpn and the internet was there but the api connection in geek never came back. only after I swithced it off and on again... Maybe there would be something in an error log?
Luckily it costed me only 300 quid but would like to find out what was the cause to make sure this does not happen again ... I don't think it's the toy, but why didn't it come back alive after internet was there? I asked a friend, he had no problems with api at that time (kilbeggan 7:25).

First, go to your settings folder,

    Next go up one level.

The error log for that version will be in the highest numbered 1.2.x directory.

Thank you Geek. found it. As expected, nothing there so small chances it was The Toy.
However I have a suggestion: is there a chance you could improve geeks ability to reconnect after internet freeze? Few times Ive experienced a situation when my connection went down for few seconds. First thing I do I disable a vpn (I am using OpenVPN software). Howerver, few times the toy did not manage to get the api connection back up, after the network started working. Is there any scope for improvement in this matter? I am not sure how to replicate it, and also noticed that this was more common in the older versions of The Toy. Am not 100% sure about newer version.
      Thanks and all the best

Will have a look, as it recovers whenever I have an internet outage.

It's not advisable running AGT via a VPN. Why would you need to?

When you are in France would be one reason...
Mine didn't go down very often, but if it did then just reconnecting the VPN would get TT working again pretty quickly.

If you are using VPN in a non allowed country make sure that you edit your routing table to disable internet going via your normal IP if the VPN disconnects.

If you want more luck... Take more chances!

I do travel a lot, and find trading over VPN much more stable when I am not in the UK. However when the network disconnects you have 3 choices: API, VPN or ISP. I like plenty of choice, but in this case it does not make me happy... well, so far 99% it was ISP if there was any problem.
I wish there was a tiny module in The Toy that would allow for connection troubleshooting but have no idea how this was supposed to work ;p (or maybe if the connection is down, display a small message that it is an API error not the ISP problem, by starting to ping geekstoy.com for example)

Anyway, if there is a scope for improvement, I would greatly support it, if no, nothing changes ... still have to accept the risk of disconnection.
