I got that same error on a Windows 7 64bit test install.

The cure is to do the following.....

Vista & Windows 7 users only
Once installed you need to do the following before use to ensure data updates work correctly & your settings remain between releases.

    1. Paste the following into the title bar of your browser & press enter.... C:\Program Files\The Geek\AGT Pro
    {NB If you have 64 bit Windows use C:\Program Files (x86)\The Geek\AGT Pro}

    2. An explorer window will show with some files in the right hand panel. Right Click the AGT Pro.exe file { the one with TT logo of type Application if you have file extensions switched off.} Select -> properties -> compatibility -> and tick run this program as administrator.

Just to say I've just downloaded and installed it on Win 7 (32bit)

Went on first time, over previous version and seems to have opened up working perfectly, just like it says on the tin.

Won't be using training mode myself, as I've been using the live version for that purpose for last couple of years. As Gary Player once said - the harder you practice, the luckier you get. Think he was not far wrong, if he'd been talking about this game. Agree with Geek's comment about live money being more real than practice stuff, however, guess if you were using £2s to practice with, it would be fairly realistic. Don't just think that what you can do with £2 will work the same way when you do it for real with a stake of a grand.

I think the training mode is useful for those new to trading and also for those wanting to test new strategies,

i may use the training mode to try new sports apart from my normal pre-race shizzle,

so i think it maybe of benefit no matter what level you are, obviously £2 stakes aint gonna push the market around likewise with 'training mode',

and you're not going to have the same 'dealing with real money thang' going on,

but just as an indication i see the benefit as will the total newbie wanting to get a foothold with AGT/betfair.

I really didn't think TG would provide a 'training mode', maybe it's just an 'up yours' to over the road, anyway Salute!!!

                Probably! With cake on.

As much as I'd like to give Blagger the credit for this one, it was actually Betfair that raised the training mode to the top of the priority list. The fact that it will annoy the hell out of my number 2 fan over at Minotaur is just a total fecking bonus.

Sorry, I have same problem as the first reply. Can you explain to someone less than computer literature what you mean when you say paste it into the browser? (I understand the paste bit, jjust not sure which browser!)

                    Thanks,

Either address bar of Internet Explorer (bar where you usually type web site address, e.g., www.geekstoy.com), either address bar of any Windows Explorer window (for example, open My Documents, and paste path to field where you see "My Documents"); in both cases, press Enter after you pasted the path.
