  • I'd like to trade again, i dont do it since very long time since i'm in italy

    Hello people,
i traded and used The geek's toy in the past but i stopped since betfai.com closed all the italian accounts.
Now i'd like to start trading again, but how?
Is it possible for italian customers to trade using geek's toy on betfair.it, betdaq, matchbook or other exchanges?
How is the situation in general? I'm out of the trading world since years and i guess things have changed in the meantime...
    thanks!

Hello old friend ..... Ive started up trading again recently, looks the same to me.

How to get round the problem with an Italian account ..... you'll have to find a friendly person from UK

hi, excuse me for the late answer, it's a pleasure to hear you again!

i checked matchbook and betdaq but they both don't accept italian customers anymore, and unfortunately i have no 100% trusted person in the uk who can let me use an account, so i'm stuck on the .it site.
(it's actually frustrating cause there's no horseracing are only few "tradeable" markets per day and all the others are just like a bookmaker disguised as an exchange: you either take the disadvantageous prices set by the artificial market of the site, or you don't trade at all.
Also, there's the psychological factor that if you lose in a market, there aren't many others to keep trading and close the day in profit, it's very frustrating too.)

Hi Flok, if you are serious about getting back into trading, you can travel to one of the gray countries which have access to betfair in EU, open an account and then go back home to Italy. Get a vpn and keep trading. It is doable..

hi, thanks for your answer an excuse me for the late reply, i didnt check the forum for a while.

of course i could travel and open an account, but what about the verification?
betfair will ask the prove that i really live in another country... if i remember correctly they'll want a local bank account in my name and bills sent to my address abroad
