  • Stop loss issue - someone help if poss

I like geeks toy but I have a major gripe with it. I cannot work out how to cancel the stop loss? I set the stop loss to 10 ticks away from the position I get in at, but when I decide to trade out manually, the red stop loss still stays? Even when I've hedged my position, the stop losses are still there and can get me back into the market... I even switch off the stop loss on the side but the red squares still remain? I can drag them around but how do I just cancel them? Is there a button to just remove all bets and stop loss from the market? I have had lots of trouble with this. Maybe I will just have to stop using the feature. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there!

I never use Stop/Loss, yet here are some insights that, hopefully, may help you understand what is happening and help you adapt your style to the feature specifics as probably you don't fully understand how it works and are expecting to do what you want instead of what it actually does.

Disabling/enable stop loss is achieved by clicking on the "stop" button at the "staking tools->Stop loss".

When stop loss is activated, for every bet you place a stop bet will also be placed (in orange). If you disable stop loss an re-enable, that stop bet will return to its original position unless you have matched a counter bet of the same value of the first one.

If you traded manually without using stop losses and then closed the trades on one selection, as long as the P/L on that selection is not equal at every price, if you enable stop loss, it will add a stop loss (in red, meaning the corresponding bet was matched) at the designated price related to your last bet (even hedging bet). That is why there will always appear a stop loss unless you are opening and closing bets with exactly the same ammount because, as stated in the manual, the stop loss is automatically calculated on the runner position & not attached to individual bets.

    ie:

    Without SL enabled>
    back 2 @ 2, lay 2 @ 1.8 ... when activating SL no SL bet will appear.
back 2 @ 2, hedge @ 1.8 ... when activating SL there will be a SL bet with same amount needed to hedge.

    With SL enabled>
    back 2 @ 2 ... a stop loss will appear.
lay 2 @ 1.8 ... another stop loss will appear.
If disabling and re-enabling SL, the corresponding bets will reappear. If both bets are matched, both stop losses disappear.

I wish I could be more clear but hope this will trigger more questions and experimenting that ultimately leads you into successfully using the tool.

Bottom line, if at some point of your trade you want to place and move around and match some bets (manually trading) just disable stop loss by clicking the "stop" button on the tool.

    Good trades!

Okay that is very confusing and complicated but thanks for trying to explain. However, the problem is even when I click 'stop' to turn the feature off, the red boxes still remain on my geeks toy... I just cannot get rid of them. So I guess I just will not use this feature.

        That's weird.

Could you post a video showing your issues?

Right click on ladder on the runner you have unmatched bets & stop loss and select "cancel all bets - it will cancel all your unmatched bets and stop loss bets

Also you can set an shortcut key to do that - http://www.geekstoy.com/en/shortcut-key-manager
