I laid the field in a couple of races today, at 1.6, but looking later they were reduced to around 1.25, it did this on a few races, I noticed there were a lot or non runners today and was one in at least one of my races, maybe there was in them all.
    Would that cause it?
and if so how can I prevent it?
They hadn't been matched, can't work out why they would reduce to what I set them.

    would appreciate your help.
    thanks

Do a search on Betfair for the term "reduction factor" and all will be explained.

but the bets hadn't been matched.
I was looking to get them matched in running. I ended up cancelling them and setting them up again, isn't it possible to keep an unmatched lay to go inplay at the odds you set it up at?

        It didn't explain this.
I only found out really about back bets.
If they were timed bets to just before the off or inplay, would this get round it?
I still don't see how it would affect an unmatched bet, and it only said matched bets on betfair.
The odds you took have been reduced, you just won't get matched if you put say a higher back bet in, why would it affect unmatched lay bets?

You'll have to rewrite your question as I am sure that nobody understands it as it appears thus far.

I layed the field in a couple of races today, at 1.6, but looking later, but still before the off, they were reduced to around 1.25, it did this on a few races that I layed the field on.
the bets were not matched and had not gone in play.

I've been reading through posts trying to find out things, and in one you say it can cause problems if going below the minimum betfair stake, which I was.

            Could that be my problem?

but as to non runners, it wouldn't affect unmatched lays before the off would it?
what I mean is I set them low to get matched in running, but couldn't understand how they would reduce themselves lower.
if a selection is then withdrawn, will my lay odds change to what I've set, even if not been matched?

been googling and reading about it.
so the lay odds will be reduced if non runners, when laying the field?

Is there any way round it with geekstoy?

can you set it to be cancelled somehow, if there's non runners, or your original set odds change?

I lay the whole field at the same odds.
