    Benefits & Features
    The main benefits and features of the new API include:

    Free access - Access to API-NG is free of charge* to all developers until at least 12th January 2015 { That's because the development around charging you for this is behind schedule, and they announced that to bribe everyone to migrate before the last minute }

    No data request charges for requests made via API-NG. { Ditto }

    Lightweight protocol (JSON/JSON-RPC). { In practice makes a negligible difference to the end user as data was gzipped anyway. }

    Configure the depth of the best prices returned to you. { Long overdue so an improvement there, although no benefit to us per se. }

    Rollup available prices - you can configure the rollup amount and type. { Don't have a scooby what this means. }

    Retrieve data from multiple markets in one request. { Useful as an ashtray on a motorbike for most people as the data takes longer to get to you. }

    Retrieve matched and unmatched bets and prices available via a single request. { Ditto }

    Search by MarketType (MATCH_ODDS, WIN, PLACE etc.) flags which remain the same, regardless of language. { An improvement should they get it working properly. }

    Search for in-play markets. { Nothing new there, could be done in API6. }

    View ‘result’ by selection after settlement. { Hurragh, something useful in the list. However that just means everyone will now moan at us to update training mode so they can test their bloody betting strategies. }

    View virtual prices. { Long overdue, but useless to us as we already had to write the bloody algorithm for that some years ago. }

    * does not apply to commercial access.

    that maybe the only difference i think ...

    We are aware of the login, and in theory we can run the toy on Betfair.it. { I say in theory as being in the UK we can't actually log in there. }

    However we have no way at this time to check this, and my understanding from Betfair is there are further certification procedures for vendor software for Betfair.it support. { From memory having everything on the website / product translated to Italian being one of them. }

    Yes, there is no support for Italy yet. And no I don't have a date for when we will support betfair.it, but hopefully this year.

    Yes, because after years of perfecting their current api so it actually works, 2 developers at betfair were feeling a bit bored a few years back, and came up with the genius idea of a new, completely different, poorer performing, buggy API that would frustrate vendors and customers alike.

    Management at Betfair took great delight at this idea, as they had a few million spare in the budget to waste and the thought of frustrating their customers in making them work endless hours just to achieve less than they were achieving with the current API was an oppurtunity too good to miss.

    And so API-NG was born, and here we all are bending over and taking a giant rodding from Betfair once again.

    Wondering if there are new features in this version..

    continue testing..
    Re 1, dont think the new api supports the soccer coupons. Will check with Betfair.

    Re 3, the man info bar menu was getting a tad long, so we have moved all those to the Show / Hide menu. Will update the user guide to reflect this at the end of the month when we switch the old one off.

    Re new features, we have a few in the pipeline, but our immediate priority is to make sure you are all successfully migrated to Betfairs new API by the end of the month.
