Hi, another newb here, asking for some advice on a few things.
At current I do in play betting in soccer only. I mix between LTD and U/O markets only.
I started with pretend $£ but have since opened an account and deposited £200 which is an amount I am comfortable to loose if all goes wrong ( well not that comfortable
) however I am happy to say that 'so far so good'.
Reason I am here then I hear you ask, is that I feel I could be doing better, and I was wondering if any of you could help me decide what if anything I am doing wrong. (im prepared to have my but spanked dont worry).
So here goes, I have been keeping an xls doc with my history and will paste the details below with notes on each game.
I want to know why, if in an LTD for example, I lay at 4 for £20 leaving a liability of £60, yet only end up winning as little as £1 for my efforts.
I have been doing a mixture of Cashing Out techniques to achieve a green, so its hard to really explain what I mean. I do have strategy, get in and out points, which I still break far too often still, but am I too cautions? i Just cant help but feel im doing something wrong or perhaps, could do more...
Getafe Mallorca lay3.95 @20 Liab59 back6.55 @10.5 profit12.78
Didn’t know teams well, Mallorca was fav but away. However they had man sent off after 10mins so odds were all over place. End score 2-1 Getafe but had to stay in play longer than I hoped

Greened out just after half time, chelsea scored after 20mins but Nordsj look a threat. Chelsea went on to win 4-0 but scored 3 goals after 80mins.

At half time 'Cash out' was offering just under £9, win was just £10.52. Experiment to see how high CO would go. 5 mins in to 2nd half greend. Pana scored in the end so good decision.
Hapoel Kiryat Lyon lay2.06 @5 lia5.3 na CASHED OUT loss3.66
Went in late at 3-3 60mins. Low liability and 6 goals gave it a punt. No more goals so CO at 88mins. Lyon scored on 94mins lasct kick of the game. Painful but right decision. Glad first loss was a low one… Learnt to stick to the plan…

What a lesson. Went in to this game having missed my best 2 options for the Saturday, (chelsea and man city games) so was anxious to get a game in but wasn’t as confident as I should have been. Layed Draw as usual, dogs scored, arsenal got 1 back just before half time. At 72mins decided to back 1-1 to green out, 2 mins later, arsenal scored, and then a few ins later they got another. I managed to cut my losses and actually trade out for no profit or loss. Good lesson, I followed my head. The -1 was comission on winnings. obviously had i stayed in ib be in big green but heres to the game...

Always going to be a goal in this game but the problem was that it came in the 4th min, and odds to back never got past 4.2 so Cashed Out for a small profit.

Had to go out with family, ended up coming home and game was at 65mins 0-0. Hadnt been watching game. Basically Liverpool were so bad even at home (but shud have easily put this to bed on paper), if I had been watching I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near the game, but as I went out and had missed both my winners (who i didnt magange to play) i wanted to play. GREENED OUT for a loss at 89mins. Another lesson learnt. Just listen to your intuituon! Game ended 0-0 so did cut my losses which would have been double.
Bilbao Osasuna lay4 @20 lia60 back5.6 @13.66 profit6.02
Went in at start, didn’t know a lot about the teams other than Bilbao are over due a good game and Osasuna away are not performing that well. Goal after 11mins so cashed in. No greed simply what I should be doing every time.

Barcelona went 2-1up at 61mins and even then the odds only moved to 4.7 so decided to just take the little profit on offer as game was unpredictable. Should Madrid not have scored first things may have been diferent at the first goal. Note, shortly after i CO Real scored agani to level at 2-2
Tottenham Chelsea lay3.35 @20 back4.2 profit3.85

Swansea Wigan lay3.3 @20 back5.2 profit4.75
Had to wait till after half time which is always a little longer than I like. Swansea scored 2 quickly in 60th and odds were moving a lot so my CO wasn’t matched and by the time I tried again Wigan pulled one back. Would have had more profit if that didnt happen but still happy.

City had a man sent off early in 1st which was not good then Wigan got the 1st goal early in the 2nd so was lucky to get the quid with a CO, however Man City went on to win 2-1 they scored the second late and I was lucky as mentioned early to get what I did. However it was just part of the plan from the beginning. am i learning?

Layed at 5.1 which is a lesson that it was too high and liability was 82quid which is far too much for a 20quid bet. Anyway, Norwich scored first and odds dropped to 3ish so was in red, I had to wait all the way to the 80th to get back to just under evens (evens did pop up but CO didnt get matched) however Norwich went on to win and I actually could have made a profit if I had let it play a little longer if not to the end. Not too unhappy as i actually wasnt watching the live game, if i was i could have made that call.
Im doing this all via the betfair website. How much would software help. The Swansea Wigan game is an example where perhaps it would. But at the same time im doing it more for fun and beer money than anything else, and is a monthly subscription worth it at this point in my 'career' lol
