  • Whole site crashed. Apparently a "30-second blip". Still seems sluggish.

              • Well it wasn't in the 1st race at Warwick as trying to get a lay in running was nigh on impossible with the boxes frozen and not accepting required odds and stakes.....Grrrrh!

                      • Mine's just gone - If I hadn't acted very quickly I would have lost approx. £500. Betfair need to sort themselves out !!

                        • They've been in touch.... two problems by the sound of it, in short ... one they expect fixed in next 3 weeks. the other cant put a time limit on.

                          • Two problems. One no time limit. Seriously, BF is becoming an abject lack of management and direction. I've been in touch about another problem, with no time limit to sort, and read about another on the BF forum with seemingly no current intention to fix. Rather pitiful really.

                            • They way BF have retrenched over the past few years I can imagine very little is getting spent on fixing problems and improving the API.

Maybe if the sportsbook ever gets an API we will see clear communication and investment.

                              • There is now no need for a perfect API. Most bookmakers now offer in-play settlement and Betfair are in competition with them. Looking at things with my "business head" I understand the Betfair strategy and cannot blame them for maximising their profits. Some of us predicted the end of trading in its original form about three years ago and, unfortunately, it seems we were correct.

The present API is an improvement on its predecessor as it does not crash completely very often. It seems that Betfair will be content with this and traders need to adjust to what has happened. There is no point in complaining as Betfair will not listen. At the end of the day traders are relatively unimportant and become less important as their numbers diminish.
