Hi I live in Madrid, currently trading with ADSL 6 Mb (320 Kb. upload only).

Depending on the areas you are located within Madrid, you will get more easily access from home to Intenet.

Right now, I regret o inform you that 100 Mb. are not available at present time, as Telefonica currently offer 30 Mb. with cable. Ono offers 50 Mb. with cable line also. However, these speed can vary depending the distance of your home to the assigned telephone central.

are there many Internet cafes in Madrid?? Can you tell me what sort of response times you are getting to betfair??

To be honest I never checked about internet CAfes on my City, let me look at it tomorrow and will tell you something.

Is it a 2 way measurement? Pretty sure the Toy is a one way deal, and BetDevil is there and back. So the Toy will show 50% of the ping that BD will show. How does it work?
At a guess, considering the distance, I would suggest that is a two way?

Either way, hope the trip goes well JR. Please keep us informed of how it all goes. I am looking to come over that way, although my main goal will be to get to Oktoberfest, so not sure how much trading would be getting done, but certainly after a bit of a play in Europe, if it is possible, would like to do something similar, in travelling, and paying for it in some form of trading.

I really don't know the technical details, so thats why I explained how I measured it.

It is? Well, consider me twice as impressed then..... My comment was based on the fact that it was around half of other 2 way ping calls, so obviously that is just the efficiency benefit rather than a different way of doing it....

I've done it myself from france and various parts of spain (including the canaries) and always found decent connections, refresh rates have always been 200ms or under. The only trouble you're likely to have is not getting too distracted! When I did it I barely broke even as I guess I was just too relaxed and not discipline enough

Yeh I know what you mean. I am only planning to do it just to get a way for a bit and for a bit of fun and because I think its a waste if I don't do a few trips trading away. If I make nothing then I make nothing thats not a massive problem really.

Good on ya mate, I'm planning to do 6 months in Italy in the new year all being well, being able to do it from anywhere is definately one of the best perks of the job. I'd love to do it from the caribeean, would actually be a 9 oclock start, finish at 1 and the rest of the day is yours in paradise!

I've heard people say response times in the US are pretty good, so who knows maybe distance isn't such a problem, though I'm certainly no technician! I'd love to see someone do a blog where they travel around the world armed only with a laptop and a grand or so stake money

No betfair acces from USA. You must use proxy.
So no way for trading!
