    I don't think there is anybody here who doubts Peters ability as a trader, and I'm sure with the length of time he has been around he does extremely well. What I personally have the issue with is the man himself and the lengths he has gone to historically to deceive people into parting with their cash, and rather sneakily sticking the knife into the various other players in the market using nearly anonymous forum handles. { Well that & sending me threatening emails when I had him by the nuts with pinsticker. }

    As for the course content I can't comment as I haven't been. From what I have heard to date though, advertising something as a "Masterclass" then packing people 20 to a room & charging them £400 for what is basically a sales pitch for Bet Angel is pretty poor value to me. { £1 says not once did he mention other products which may have been better suited to participants needs. }

    Still if people are stupid enough to pay him simply for the pleasure of running shoulders with their deity, then it's worth every penny! { more fool them though }
    I can't comment on The Geek's personal issues with Peter Webb based upon experiences with him. I respect everyone's right to their opinion.

    What I can say is that I've had a Betfair account since 2001, and I've traded (part-time) on and off for the last 5 years, and yet I still learnt a hell of a lot on that course about the way the Betfair market works. I consider myself of above average intelligence and yet many of the techniques Peter covered had never occurred to me. It's possible that the whole content of the course would be bleedin' obvious to the participants in this forum but I seriously doubt it.

    The Geek is definitely wrong to describe it as a sales pitch for Bet Angel. Peter didn't mention any trading tools at all, including Bet Angel . Sure his demos used Bet Angel and of course the screen shots in the manuals he handed out were all from it too but he never said anything that could remotely be seen as selling his software. In fact over coffee before we started I asked if any of the eleven other guys on the course used The Toy and none had heard of it but I told them the web address and several scribbled it down. To be honest the course wasn't about software at all, it was about trading techniques, choosing the right timing to enter and exit the market, and how to minimise risk.

    It's true that there was definitely a post-course euphoria. After all it's such an intensive day: after a 9.30am start we worked through without stopping until a 45 minute lunch break, then again without a break until I left at 6.15pm. Peter was still there answering questions but I had a train to catch. As I travelled home my head was full and spinning with all the information we'd been given.

    I'll be happy to report back in a few weeks after I've tested some of the strategies we went through. I'll have no problem admitting if I find that my £400 was wasted, but equally I hope people here will be open-minded if, after a month, I still say I think it was value for money.

      :Brilliant

      Wondered why yesterdays downloads were higher than usual. Never thought the virial around The Toy would ever see the light of day on a Bet Angel course.

      Bet he loves you for that.

          Sorry Joker, I have unbound the two manuals and scanned them to PDF for my own use because I prefer reading an electronic copy but I won't be sharing it. You may call me old-fashioned but I think sharing copyrighted material is not only illegal but also immoral. (All the music on my iPod has been paid for too. )

          Anyway, why should I pay four hundred quid for a course and then share the notes with you for free?

              He was kidding. As an old hand here, he already knows we wouldn't allow the distribution of them on here for sale or for free due to forum rules & copyright reasons.

                And, apart from anything else, most of us have lives and things to do.

                  Somebody has put new GeeksToy videos in german on his blog the last days. Has good critics in the german betfair forum.
                  Betfair is not the answere, it's the question.
                  ....and the answere is NO!!!

                      I went on this class a few years back.

                      I happened to be over here from Oz at the time the course was on and signed up - had been 'trading' for only a few months at the time, but had a BF account for a few years, but couldn't be arsed to learn trading.

                      I struck up a good relationship with Peter Webb and while we've had quite a few run in's since, I couldn't say anything bad about the class.
                      Similarly, I don't blame him for taking any angle to improve his lot and his business - thousands have done worse than he does. Being sneaky, sending snarly emails and using different aliases is nothing new and i'd probably do the same if my business was under a pressure it hadn't had to encounter before, competition from quality trading tools like the Toy .

                      Like many here, I have used and still use BA, The Toy depending on what I'm trading and I have no affiliation or preference for one over the other.

                      I found the class to be enlightening, as the previous poster mentioned, there were hidden little gems that I hadn't thought about previously that I used (and still use) to good effect. As I recall it, Peter Webb did specifically mention there is no magic pill or silver bullet to success.

                      Though I wasn't on the look out for it, I don't recall it being a sales pitch for BA, nor were any other platforms given a raw deal - lots of theory early on and few trades in the afternoon. Only 1 ended red, the others green.

                      For me, it was more about making sure I wasn't the only dill doing this trading lark and swapping war stories and ideas with some of the other guys on the class. There weren't many established forums around at the time.

                      I'm not a BD Fanatic, nor, anyone that knows me from posting on many forums, do I have a barrow to push or a product to sell - but I do trade full time now and I do make my living trading - i moved to the UK and do it as my primary source of income. 4 hours a day 4 days a week on average. Sitting on my ass watching tennis and cricket and gee gee's.

                      Was it because of the class? No it wasn't, but it certainly influenced it and gave me the confidence to stick at it and taught me some elementary concepts that I may have picked up eventually and maybe I wouldn't have - I'll never know.

                      Was it value for money? Don't know. It was expensive for me, but I have made it back many times over, but value is subjective and other elements need to be considered before weighing it up.

                      But - I have good days trading, I have great days trading and I have horrible days trading. No class will ever change this 'traders burden', but it beats the hell out of the alternative, for mine

                        Yes Mullyman has summed that course up better than me. I forget the name of the golfer who said: "It's funny but the more I practice the better I get" but I think Peter was saying the same thing.

                        The course gave us some important rules to follow before opening a position in a market, he highlighted specific markets that have worked well for him, and he gave us a feel for the kind of return a diligent, focussed trader without any special skills can expect to achieve.

                        But most of all he gave us the confidence to get in there and start doing it. You can read books or go to courses but ultimately it's only by trading, making profits, making some losses, but getting back in there and trading some more, that any person becomes an experienced trader.

                        I'm certainly not as experienced a trader as I hope to become but I wasn't naive enough to think the expensive Peter Webb course would make me one. What it has done is to give me a benchmark to judge myself against. Trading can be a solitary activity so it's good to meet some other guys and compare notes.

                          Just because others have done worse, doesn't make him any better.

                            The golfer was Gary Player.

                            I find that I am able to judge my performance by looking at my Betfair balance about fifteen times every day. I don't pretend to be a professional trader and for me it's a fascinating hobby. If I can't learn on my own, I don't want to learn. Been the same all my life. I do it my way and the day I start doing it somebody else's way will be the day I pack it in.

                            My hotel accommodation in Bangkok for my next holiday will be approximately £400. I think it's very sad that twenty men want to spend £400 by attending such a course. I couldn't stand being in a room with twenty blokes who were all hanging on every word of the twenty first bloke. Of course, I am not normal. Mercifully ! Thank God we are all different
