Synergy...Anyone using this ?

Indeed. I currently use a KVM for the keyboard / mouse & have one PC using the VGA on a monitors & the other using DVI.

Would the 'server' PC need to have a spare ethernet slot to connect 'client' PC to, or would it work via a router?

Danjuma it would seem that aslong as the PC are in the same network/workgroup it will work
