i perfectly know how it feels, it happened several times to me too.
now i modified the stake buttons to be as big as possible, so i dont click the wrong one by mistake.

before i used to type the stake manually, but once i layed a horse inplay with 4.500euros instead of 450.
obviously it went to 1.01 in no time and my scratch attempt stayed unmatched, fortunately it was a heavy favourite at low odds, kind of 1.10

Seems like a lot of money to lose if you get 10 losses in a row.

I must have failed to state it correctly, $350 was the overall loss for the day since I bet with a little bit more than $30 stakes. Should have written it like that: $350 loss, 10 loses in a row. The worst thing is that I still continue losing this week.

No, I read it as that. I just would be concerned about 10 losses in a row!

I am concerned a little bit actually and even configured the bot in a more conservative way, but it's still not doing any better

With gambling bots you just have to accept the losing runs if you know overall your system is sound. I try to avoid the daily pnl checking and just look at the end of the week. If it's a trading bot then it's a different situation altogether if that has long losing runs they need to be addressed asap.

It's a bot for dobbing in-running, the problem is that sometimes it has losing weeks as well. All in all, it's pure gambling.

I switched my little Bert on shortly after reading your reference to your bot. God bless him ! He won in three out of four races and didn't bet in the other. The trouble is that he is not always as well behaved. He is near his hundredth reincarnation now.

He's a sort of dobbing bot but he's not as greedy as a dobber and he settles for a smaller percentage profit. Also, he only backs horses whose price is dropping. I never know which horses he is going to back until he actually backs them.

Two members of this forum were instrumental in Bert's initial creation. They know who they are and, again, I thank them.

My bot is doing almost the same thing. I'm constantly trying to improve it, but unfortunately it didn't bring me any profit during the last few months

The principal difficulty in creating a bot is making it minimise its losses in a race where it does not make a profit. Small profits in each of many races must at least add up to more than the total loss which occurs when the market plays tricks in the rogue race.

Well, my bot is a pure Double or Bust, I aim for the whole stake or lose mine. That's why I have perfect days and lots of crappy ones.

So, you pick your own horses ? I've just switched Bert on for the Kempton 5.35 race and it looks like a two horse race. I'm not optimistic as he will have to back an outsider.

                          Update

He backed Bowstar at 3, lay at 2.2, SP 28

                          Good 'ole Bertie !

How have you clever people created bots .... Using the free c# thing from betfair's BDP thing

Nah, I just use the tools available in the Toy. And I don't look into form, since I know nothing about horses.

I wish I had a bot ... started one in C# but a lot is missing in the main core before I can get to the AI programming. If anyone wants to give me a startup push, in source code format for the core (C, C++ or C#), I'd be eternally grateful You can take out your AI dll, I'll make my own.
