Default The Toy on Telly

I saw Presidente's post on audio warnings http://www.geekstoy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5848 and it got me thinking - how about running a USB HDMI wireless transmitter like Q waves' http://www.amazon.co.uk/Q-Waves-Wire.../dp/B002RL9F38 from the PC to the TV? It should allow your monitors display to be played on the big screen in HD and sound into an amp.

Does anyone have any experience of doing something similar - cheaper than Sqeezebox and would it be ideal for youtube etc - or am I missing something?

Thanks.

The reality is, the big thing with displays is the resolution. All you are getting with a bigger screen with the same resolution is a magnified view of what you can already see.

Thanks chaps, I'll still give it a go as to Mrs Surgeon cables are like Krypronite, and resolution isn't a problem as I won't be using it for trading, along with youtube there's tons of music on my PC (not MP3s) which will be fun to put through the hifi - without getting off my arse to change CDs.

there is a large offer on AV Wifi Transmitter/Receiver ... just make sure you buy one that allow you to set up wifi defjnitions or you might have trouble with other wifi devices due to interference... This is taking in account Mrs Surgeon handicap...I use cables and no problems at all.

How much music can you possibly want to listen to at any one time? Surely a 16GB USB stick would hold more than enough to keep you entertained?

I used to play all my movies and such through wifi connected PS3. Now I just use a USB stick. So much easier.
