Hm, if you explain what should be such a thing, I suppose someone would know...

I just use a computer for it. I threw all my paper out and just do everything digitally now. In fact, I am not sure how paper, no matter how specifically named, could possibly be more efficient than trading online?

I think you've got me wrong chaps... i meant.....
Is there not such a thing as a 'Trading paper' ? I know the racing post do and In Running trading column once a day but just seemed to think it was odd there is no News paper or online site running to support trading statistics and info, predicted opening prices, ceiling/floor prices etc?? I mean surely theres a market for it with the amount of people that trade on the sports exchanges. The closest i can think of it is that exchange secrets rubbish, that is clearly priced through the roof. If there was one id probably get it just to see others views on the market. Chuck |

Most sporting publications i can think of just seem to report movements after the events have taken place. As you say the racing post do a bit of coverage, but it is limited. The outlook does a bit mainly football though.Probably the best way to gauge price movements would be keeping an eye on certain tipsters prices and see how they move on a daily basis, along the lines of scumbag traders long term trading strategy. Also following trainers patterns can be rewarding. If a trainer has runners in similar kinds of races i find the volume of money gives a good indication of whats expected to run well although thats not much of a help i know as you want these before the volume of money is on them.A lot of these type of systems the value goes quickly but the systems can still work you just need to turn them round.(not for me as i dont like to lay first).Happy trading all.

Basically, I don't think it can be done. You can't really predict movements, unless you have framed the market differently.
If you can find an accurate market framer, than that is your best hope, but predicting movements is purely down to value, at least at the start. Sure there will be moevements around true odds, but they will all navigate there. Trick is to find what those true odds are, or find somebody else that knows. Isn't the same as shares, or forex or whatever, where future predictable events can dictate a price movement. Price movements are generally restricted for value, or on course events. Horses are in their stables til under 30 minutes before jump, so can't really get a paper out in that time... Yeah? |

Of course, in saying that, that is purely based around daily races. Sure there could be something out predicting future movements of big races, events etc... Something that maybe tells you what the future possibly holds for horses, depending on the races they run, and positions.
For example, the winner of the gold cup, was immediately installed as $10 to win the Melbourne Cup. In theory, this sort of future long term trading could be documented, but I doubt very much that it ever will be, given the lack of liquidity in the markets. |

Start one up chuck. Remember when you update you just have to say you backed at 8 in the morning and laid off at 5 pre race and use the fake p and l page that originated on juicestorm. You'd soon have plenty of subscribers, in the short term at least
