Default Promoting The Toy

Like a number of users of 'The Toy' I do not belong to Twitter or Facebook and have no wish to join, maybe because I am an 'old' geezer.
I have been happy to make donations to the Geek from time to time and will continue to do so (unlike a lot of users of The Toy).
I am more than happy to promote The Toy on the Betfair forum, which I visit infrequently ( contributions to the Betfair forum have deteriorated over the years) - this forum is far superior.
Is there a particular thread on Betfair where we are promoting The Toy ?
I am very appreciative of the work that The Geek has done and continues to do.

Not criticising but do you really use no other forums than this one and Betfair? I'm surprised that someone who can use such complicated software as GT (it's certainly not what I would call software for someone who has just learnt to use a computer) doesn't use forums. Just wondering, not criticising!

I am sure you have other hobbies/interests and just figured that you'd benefit from using forums related to those hobbies.

I use the most popular Russian blog dirty.ru but it's forbidden to post adverts there, so I plugged AGT on Facebook:

Hi Shadowninja
Thanks for your interest. I really am a 'sad case', I don't have a mobile phone either!
I'm not quite sure how being on forums has anything to do with being able to use The Toy.
I've traded financial and sporting markets with a variety of software for a good many years and The Toy is the best for sports trading.

Hello!
Old geezer i'm in my 20's and i do not have Facebook, Twitter or use any other social network... but i have a cell phone.

I have some questions to The Geek and, not to open a new thread i'll use this one if you don't mind.

The Geek:
How can you tell which users have already "passed the word"? Should i use my Geek's forum username in another forum to spread the word? Does my e-mail in another forum needs to be the same used in Geek's forum? Do i have to leave here a link to forum i wrote about The Geek in? What if i leave a comment in one of your Youtube videos? How does the verification process works?

I don't know if you unsderstand what i am trying to ask or if i placed the questios right because english is not my mother language.

All for now and thanks is advance.

Fair enough.

Being able to use forums vs Geeks Toy: my mum doesn't use forums but she can barely use a computer so she definitely cannot use GT!

I am another who does not use Twitter or Facebook, even though I spend a huge amount of time on the internet, I just don't wish to use them.

I have plugged the Toy on Betfair forum a great many times over the last couple of years (not same username as here) and in the Betfair Feedback Community, which I am a member of, but that does not have general viewing.

However, I am sure that those who use T&F can all put up a plug to their friends and I'm sure any recommendation would be because they do believe in the product.

As an "Old Geezer" too I also do not use Twitter/Facebook or any other social interface or whatever you call it! As for mobile phones why would you want to.....!! Seriously I may not use the GT to it's maximum but I do use it every day and have appreciated the fact that it is free and do send the odd donation, I'm at level 7, though not quite sure what that means. Also I belong to one other Forum and and have promoted it there.

What I would say is that there is obviously an operating cost that I think we all agree the Geek should be able cover with subscriptions/donations in some form or another. Only he will know what the individual cost to each of the subscribers should be in order to cover the overhead, ie by dividing the amount by the number of subscribers.

Maybe a set flat fee per month would solve the problem and could also incorporate a proportion going to the Geek's charity Is that the answer? I don't beleive the Geek wants to charge but I think that no one would begrudge say £10.00 pcm if that was sufficient.

Comments on a postcard please!!!!!

im afraid i am a bit older and have no desire to facebook or tweet, i just tried to leave a comment on the mikeyb trading video on youtube but apparently i need my own channel,, so not sure what to do although im contantly telling friends how fantastic the geeks trading software is... so a big thank you to the geek because even if he starts to charge for it, its been fantastic to have used it for so long for free.

Thumbs up

Congrats GEEK, you are the recipient of my first ever tweet , and more than likely my last, as I personally don't see the point of twitter (unless someone can convince me otherwise).
I'm like most others on this thread and don't really use other forums, in fact my post count on all forums I've ever belonged to would be less than 25 in 6 years of computer usage, I don't even like sending text messages on my phone. I'm much happier reading what others have to say. Anyway whatever your decision is, I will continue to use the TOY, as it IS the best BF app there is.

Smile promoting the toy

I`m not an expert on this new-fangled social networking but I`ve plugged AGT on Digg (and left some feedback on the toy facebook page).
Hope it stays free: I`ve only been using it for a few months (still using low stakes...) but it is a great bit of software for trading.

Old Geezer sums up my situation almost exactly too.
I am not a member of either face book or twitter and have ABSOLUTELY zero interest in being one either...however I DO MUCH appreciate the Toy as a betting tool for using Betfair/Betdaq and I will gladly mention my use of it when on various forums.
I would love to think that it will remain free but I would be happy to pay for it if that was necessary.
