  • Place a back bet at a specific price?

I am trying to get the software to place a back bet when a specific price is reached. I thought that OCO would do the trick but if I enter the back price and a better price is available it takes the better price. I want to place the back bet only when the price has dropped to my trigger level. Is this possible?

You get the higher price because that is what Betfair does. It doesn't matter what software you use, you get the higher price.

How does that work, please ? By that I mean what are the mechanics of it ? Place a bet at 2 on Betfair and if somebody is daft enough to offer 10, then 10 is what you get. By doing it your way do you risk not getting the bet matched at all.

The answer has been given in a much earlier post and I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now. Help, please

Say the back price is trading at 10, but you only want to get involved if/when the price drops to 2, the Stop Entry will let you put an order in at 2 and not get matched at 10. If the price doesn’t drop then clearly the bet will not get matched.

In other words, you can Back lower than the current price and Lay higher than the current price.

Sorry, I completely understood the original post and did not realise that the OP was trying to use a sort of automation. Obviously, your post is correct. Thanks.
