It's like not having a boss, getting a promotion, and a pay rise, and not even knowing how you went about it.

If I voted, I would have voted for that guy.

**#* me thats good. Using a telephone to place a bet inplay is just annoying.

But seriously who thought it was a good idea to let horse racing trade inplay but not sports just doesn't make sense to me. Cant wait for this.

Disappointing news (but expected?) that the Coalition opposes any change to the current legislation relating to online gaming and the Act of 2001.

There's a fair way to go and the opposition are against everything, but the problem is the Greens hold the balance of power in the Senate and are against it too.

So we keep waiting I guess...

    Smile In play question

    Gdayall
this is my first post thanks for having me!!. Great to find a forum like this.

I recently moved back from 10 years in London back to sunny Oz. I wanted to start trading on "in play " football matches in the UK as Im told here in oz we cannot do this.

I understand that this public forum is no place to discuss illegal activities.

    cheers

Weird. I was just wondering earlier today if they'd ever change the law on this, as the liquidity death when Aus events go in play is such a deal-breaker. An hour later I get home and see this. Absolutely brilliant if it happens and applies to exchanges.

The Australian sports betting industry revenue is estimated to be ~A$500 million, but is the fastest growing segment in the gambling industry.
A well regulated market place where everyone understands the rules for rummy or gambling is essential for the government and the industry to protect vulnerable gamblers. Similarly Crown bet, who recently paid ~A$10 million to secure an official partnership with the Australian Football League, has stated that: Any push to wind back in-play gambling will send punters to offshore and illegal sites.

Don't hold your breath for positive changes to the Interactive Gambling Act to occur. Until they seperate pokies from sports betting then my opinion is that the in-play restrictions will only get tougher.
Here's some light reading for you.
    Enjoy.

    Hi Oztrade,

Now that the election results are clear and the new Senate has been sworn in don't expect any relaxation about in-play betting rules in Australia.
Xenophon and his team will oppose any relaxation and there is no favourable sentiment amongst the pollies for change for genuine traders.
Sorry but you'll just have to use the phone and do it the old fashioned way.
