Firstly welcome one and all to 2020 and I hope its a great time for all of the Geeks Toy family.
In Australia there is a lot happening including the continuation of some deadly bushfires which have destroyed several hundred homes and businesses.
Lives have been lost and at last count around 24 Australians have perished. On the bright side donations to assist the rebuilding process are flooding in with about $250m plus from private contributions and the Aus Government has pledged a further $2 billion.
The Magic Million Annual Sales are underway on the Gold Coast and already there have been at least ten $1m plus purchases with the largest being $1.9 million. The Gold Coast Magic Million races will be run on Saturday with all races (bar two) having $1m plus prizemoney up for grabs with the two principal races in the Millions Guineas and the Classic both having $2m purses. Full fields are the order of the day with our top horses and jockeys in attendance.
In last weeks final race a horse by the name of Yamazaki was last at the turn and went so wide it disappeared off the screen as they turned for home. Then as the horses were around 100 metres from the post an image of a horse hard up against the rails went past and it was Yamazaki cruising home with the jockey Glen Boss sitting quietly as it went onto win easily. Its in again on Saturday in Race 5 with the same jockey in a set weights race so some of my hard earned will be on it in the hope of a repeat.
Looks like a great days racing coming up so lets hope we can find a few winners for you.

Well we did manage a reasonable result last week with nine winners and all three lay bets losing. Lets hope thats an indication of things to come.
As you are probably aware Australia's eastern coastline has been ravaged by devastating bushfires with large property losses and some 24 lives lost.
The heavens did open up during the week and many of the fires that were burning out of control have now been extinguished and as at this morning there were less than 100 fires still burning. Thankfully the rain that has fallen has done so in areas of dire need and as I write this there are kids out there playing in water puddles because its the first time in their life that they have seen water other than out of a tap. The Australian bush has a remarkable ability to adapt to bush fires and drought conditions and the recent rains will trigger new growth which will green up the bush and these lush conditions will remain until the next drought arrives and we do it all over again.
Looks like some tough programs ahead for us this Saturday so hopefully we can sift out a few winners sufficient to make us a few bob.
As usual here are the early selections which will change as the late mail and scratchings arrive, and time permitting updates will occur as the various meetings progress.
Hope your day is a good one.
UPDATE: Woke up at 3.00am to the sound of rain something thats been quite rare these days. Rain guage reports 100mil of rain in just one hour. Pool and tanks all full and there's a creek nearby thats flowing strongly...first time in five years that its flowed so that will give you an insight on how dry its been here in recent times.

Well we did manage ten winners last week and three successful lay bets and whilst the prices were far from juicy its nice to see acceptable results with a 34.5% strike rate on selections and 100% with the lay bets.
Weather in Brisbane has been hot and muggy and the afternoon storms have deposited much needed moisture to the extent that there are several areas that have been subjected to flooding. That's Australia for you. Its either hot and dusty or you are soaked by heavy rains. There have been around 3000 houses and buildings and about 30 lives lost to bushfires and the resultant fundraising to help those in need has been simply amazing. It never ceases to amaze me how generous ordinary folk can be when asked to dig into their pockets for those not so fortunate.
Racing in the southern states returns to their normal venues however Brisbane racing is heading off to the Sunshine Coast (which has been anything but in recent weeks!) Its a tricky course as they seem to have fast and slow lanes according to my local contact there or maybe that's his go to excuse when the cards dont fall as he would have liked.
As usual here are the early selections which will be updated, amended, altered, etc etc when the final scratchings and late mail arrives.
Best wishes for a successful day.

Nice returns on the win selections last week with the 30 selections returning almost a 100% return. Downer for the day was the Lay Bets which returned a loss. Still its nice to get some positive results at a time when the world is consumed with global fears about the likes of coronavirus and how the climate may adversely affect our lives in the years ahead. Watched Djokovic whitewash Federer in the Mens Open tennis at Melbourne last night only to learn afterwards that Federer admitted to taking an injury into the game and he considered himself just a 3% chance of winning the match. As there are huge sums of money bet on these games I would think that Mr Federer should receive a please explain notice as clearly his army of betting supporters had no more than a 3% chance of winning their bets. I think its time for Roger to pull up stumps and retire from tennis before his credibility is dented further and his reputation as a good decent bloke is tarnished, and he certainly should do so before his age increases and his ability to cope with the younger and fitter stars of the future force him off anyway. Retirement is a case of knowing when to hold them and knowing when to fold them and whilst in many cases that's hard to accept the truth is you cant fight Father Time for too long. Besides he is a very wealthy man so he cant be doing it just for the money. So Roger, retire gracefully while you can and enjoy the fruits of the game that has been extraordinary generous to you over several decades.
Very hot weather still prevailing here and whilst the bushfires are diminishing in number there are still a few around threatening houses, as is the case today in Canberra. Several race meetings have been cancelled recently because of the heat and/or thick smoke haze however the season is just about over and we should be heading into cooler months ahead. Lets hope so.
Here are the early selections and as is the norm these will be amended, updated and altered once the scratchings are known and the late mail has been received.
    Enjoy the day.

No joy last week so here's hoping for an uplift this weekend. News here is that the drought is over and according to my rain guage some 100mls fell in the last 24 hours which means plenty of flash flooding and the refilling of water tanks and dams much to the joy of our local farming community.
The heavy rains will probably result in the cancellation of a number of race meetings so until that happens then we will soldier on and try and find those elusive winners.

Here are the early selections and as is the norm these will be upgraded, altered, amended etc etc as the scratchings and late mail are to hand.
Trust your punting day will be a profitable one.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R1 no 4 Mishani Machine 4th
    R2 no 1 Art Attack 4th
    R3 no 5 Bullet Shot

    R3 no 1 A Beautiful Night..no 2 Muntaseera 2nd is the logical danger.
R4 no 1 Hanseatic. Won $2.60...thought no 7 Rulership 2nd was a solid chance here
    R5 no 1 Microphone Won $2.70
    R7 no 10 Miss Siska Won $2.60
R8 no 3 Scales of Justice....mate who owns this considers him a cert. Thought No 1 Avilius was a chance at $12

Just had 320mills of rain this week according to the rain guage which is the most rain recorded here in the last decade. Of course the rain has played havoc with racetracks with Eagle Farm in particular producing some unusual results from a punting perspective. Eagle Farm aside the other venues returned reasonable results.
This Saturday the focus is on Flemington where a small field will contest the Black Caviar Lightning stakes for a cool $750k in prizemoney. Queensland will be represented in the CS Hayes Stakes with Alligator Blood who will start a short priced favourite and should (in my completely unbiased Queensland view!!) collect the chocolates.
The recent rains have turned a dry and sunburnt countryside into a lush green state and for once most of our dams are near capacity with some even overflowing. We desperately need more dams however our green cousins keep finding wide mouthed frogs or pretty coloured birds that seem to take precedence over the need to store drinking water so we can use it during the inevitable droughts. Think I will move to Tasmania in the not too distant future as they are the only State that has constructed new dams in the last three decades which not only are excellent water retainers but they also use them to create hydro power. In the meantime lets see if can find a few winners for you and as is the norm the early selections will be amended, updated, altered, etc etc as the late mail and scratchings are discovered.
Just to give you an idea of how wet tracks can adversely affect your punting bank, my bets this week up to last night totalled 21. Of the 21 there were four winners, twelve seconds, one third and four unplaced. Normal expectations for my type of bets is a strike rate of around 42% so the strike rate of just 19% is well below expectations. That's part of what happens when you invest on horses and whilst the short term results can be discouraging one needs to be reminded that if you have faith in your system of selections then variances are just part of the rollercoaster we endure in order to achieve the end result. Even so one wonders how is it possible that the God of Odds can allow 57% of my investments to finish second!!
Hope your day is a good one.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R1 no 1 Rothfire Won $2.45
    R2 no 4 Our Mantra

Another week of hot temperatures here with a few thunderstorms and a night display of visual lightning that streaked across the sky's for several hours.
Punting continues to be tough with some good ones going down as the rain affected tracks and hot temperatures take their toll. I'll update my last weeks punting results after tonights racing which continues to be sub-par whilst the temperatures and muggy conditions linger on.
Last weeks results left us a little out of pocket so lets hope that enough was salvaged to continue with our crusade to beat the bookies longterm.
Last week's punting effort was no improvement on the past week. Coincidentally I had 21 bets (same as last week) and the results were 5 winners, 5 seconds, 2 thirds and 9 unplaced. Win strike rate remains well below the norm so unless the rate goes up I'll be shortly joining the ranks of the homeless !!
As usual the early selections will go up first and these will be amended once the late mail and scratchings are to hand.
Enjoy the day and may the punting gods be kind to you all.

Winners have been somewhat scarce of late as Australian racing struggles with a very hot summer, numerous bushfires and heavy rainfalls that have caused havoc to our roads and rivers. That's part of the enjoyment of life in Australia and frankly we wouldn't have it any other way...well maybe tweek a few changes if the man above would allow it.!! My personal punting continues to drift along with little joy of late. This week I will have had 28 bets including 6 today and so far I have had 9 winners out of the 22 bets to date which is around a 41% strike rate. Thats pretty close to the norm so the upward trend is encouraging. I'll post the updated figures tomorrow morning.
UPDATE: Ended up with 27 bets for the week with 12 that won, 3 ran second, 2 ran third and 10 unplaced which results in a 44.4% strike rate, which is back in the ballpark of expectations.
There is some outstanding racing in Melbourne tomorrow highlighted by the running of the Australian Guineas for $1m prizemoney. Its expected to be a match race between Alligator Blood and the New Zealand champ Catalyst however Alabama Express is likely to give them both something to think about. In Sydney the highlights are the Surround Stakes and the time honoured running of the Chipping Norton Stakes. There are quality horses in both as the prizemoney for the two races totals $1.1m.
Here are the early selections which will be amended once the scratchings and late mail arrive.

    DOOMBEN:
    R2 no 5 Raqeeq 2nd

The Corona Virus is the headline act in Australia at present as it is in most parts of the world. For some reason Australians are pretty relaxed about the matter as no one seems to wear face masks around the cities. Perhaps we are too reliant on our Border Defence personnel to ensure our safety and maybe this in hindsight will bite us in the bum. Only time will tell. One funny aspect is that all of our supermarkets have been depleted of toilet paper by panic buying. Not sure why as Australia produces heaps of toilet paper but for some reason everyone is expecting a need to have ample stockpiles on hand as the virus spreads. There's enough here in terms of politics to give everyone the shits but the virus isnt going to require toilet paper unless we start mass isolation's of people in their homes. We are a strange lot here at times!!
You'll be pleased to note that my personal punting efforts are steadily working their way back to norm. By the end of the day I will have had just 20 bets for the week and even if my two bets today run unplaced I will finish the week ahead. UPDATE: 20 bets this week for 8 Winners, 5 Seconds and 7 unplaced. I put the adverse results last month down to the disruptions caused by the bushfires and elevated temperatures which in turn adversely affect horses temperaments. There are some excellent high class racing at Flemington and Randwick tomorrow so should be a good day.
As usual the late mail and scratchings will alter the early selections which have now been posted.
    Enjoy the day.

The Corona Virus is not only destabilizing financial markets its also causing havoc in this part of the world with horse racing and major sporting events. As I write this the next sport to fall victim to the virus will be the F1 Motor car racing event that is scheduled to be held in Melbourne this weekend. Latest mail is that crowds will be banned from attending and if thats correct then I expect there is a real possibility that the race may well be cancelled. I hope not because its a huge event here and a cancellation will then also put in doubt the next race in Bahrain. UPDATE. Race has now been officially cancelled.
Horse racing here is becoming harder to predict and I blame the corona virus for that as trainers and others try to race their horses with the threat of owners, jockeys and trackworkers and others having the virus. My results for the week have been pretty ordinary with 26 bets including two tonight.
UPDATE: Out of the 26 races concluded I have won 10, six have been placed, and 10 have been unplaced. A 38.5 win strike is reasonable but below expectations that normally come out around 45% for my type of bets.
Saturday here sees the running of the All Star Mile at Caulfield which believe it or not carries prizemoney of AUD$5m. Its a big money race and naturally attracts the nations best milers. My heart says the local Queensland horse in Alligator Blood will win this however my head suggests Melody Belle with the better barrier and better jockey will prevail.
We are now in unchartered waters with cricket matches and other events proceeding without crowds due to the Corona virus so its wise to reduce your stake until normality returns.
In Australia we still dont wear protective masks outdoors and toilet paper is a doubtful commodity as strange thinking people stock up piles of the stuff. Videos of shoppers here having fist fights in shopping isles over toilet paper have gone viral. We live in interesting (and somewhat strange) times. In somewhat sad news film star and nice guy Tom Hanks and his wife have succumbed to the virus and are isolated in a Gold Coast hospital. Frankly if you are going to have to go into isolation a Gold Coast scenario would be high on my preference list!!. Naturally we wish them a speedy recovery from the virus. If Tom can survive four years on a tropical island with only a coconut for a mate then this should be a walk in the park for him.!!
Here are the early selections and as is normal these will be updated, amended, and altered as the scratchings and late mail are delivered.
Have fun and may the punting gods be kind to you.

Last week looked like one of the worst results for a while despite the fact that our four lay bets all did the right thing. Then in the very last race of the day Beauty Kanas saluted at the generous odds of $36 and in a heartbeat the pending loss scenario turned into a nice win. And yes I'm pleased to report that I did have a few dollars each way on the little Beauty!. Having said that my personal punting is unusually inconsistent at present and whilst I do put it down to issues created by the Corona virus it still is a worry. For the record my normal bets (which originate from a time honoured system I use) this week were 28 bets of which four go around tonight. Of the 24 that have competed just 5 saluted, 7 ran a place and the other 12 failed to run a drum. A 21% win rate wont cut the mustard for me as normality is around 43%. If it hadn't of been for the casual bet on Beauty Kanas then my results would been coloured with red ink. EDIT: Results after 28 bets were 7 winners, 8 placegetters and 13 unplaced.
There is no doubt that the Corona virus is having an impact on racing here with racegoers now banned from tracks. Its also adversely affecting stock markets and the ability for many to simply earn a living. I hope that the news that China, where this virus originated from, has managed to eliminate new cases is a sign that there is a positive light on the horizon. In Australia we have been subjected to some tough rules and even the State of Tasmania has now closed its borders to fellow Australians. If you do manage to get there you are required to go into self isolation for 14 days, and there is a whopping big $14,600 fine if you fail to comply. The Northern Territory is seeking to do the same as we have told to expect the virus to last at least six months here in Australia.
Please take care of your loved ones as best you can during these unique and difficult times.
Here are the early selections which of course will be amended, altered, upgraded etc etc when the scratchings and late mail arrive.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R1 no 5 La Jument
    R2 no 2 Bellissimi Amici 2nd

Racing in Australia for the past couple of days was curtailed due to several jockeys being tested for a suspected case of Covid-19. This morning news has come through that jockeys such as Mark Zahra, Tommy Berry, Hugh Bowman and Willie Pike have all returned a negative result. Bit like my punting accounts of late.!! So racing will go ahead this weekend. I note that several states have isolation plans in place in case the virus strikes. For example Queensland will be broken up into five different zones which really means you race where your horses are located and you dont move into a neighbouring zone to compete. Racing here is desperate to continue on as its a huge national business so tune in for further updates as this story will continue on for some time. I might add here that Australia seems to be handling the virus impact quite well and if it wern't for the number of cases that have emerged via cruise ships then we would be looking good. At this stage we have just 13 deaths and most of those came from cruise ships.
If you are bored and looking for some light relief then try reading David Walsh's Covid-19 Diary. David of course is arguably Australia's best ever punter having won many millions of dollars until the Tax Dept came along and demanded a share. He runs a museum by the name of Mona which is arguably the best tourist attraction in Tasmania. Just for fun he has been plotting the virus in graphical formats and has concluded that our curve is worse than that of Italy's, which is concerning, however for the record I think the stats are wrong as our death rate is just 13 and there are no indicators to say that we will come even close to Italy's numbers even on a pro-rata basis. David does go to considerable length to "prove" his theories and statistics so its a very long and very interesting read. If you want a simple example of his thinking and how a virus can explode then read the lily pad example which is in his diary dated March 23rd titled Day One.
My personal bets are down this week because of cancelled meetings...just 14 bets to date with four winners, five placings and five unplaced. Despite the poor strike rate the divvy's returned a very small profit which is better than a loss and good for the psyche.
Lets hope we can find some winners on Saturday and as is the norm the early selections will be posted shortly and these will be updated tomorrow morning when the scratchings and late mail arrive.

Last Saturday was one of the worst days we have had for a long time but unfortunately it didn't improve much during the week. Racing here in Oz is still proceeding except for the State of Tasmania where they are having a hiatus for a month. No one really knows the reason as there doesn't appear any jockey infections or the like so it's got us baffled. But they do do strange things in Tasmania at times so maybe it shouldn't be that big a surprise.!!
Of course the biggest story here is the Corona virus and our death rate has doubled since my last spiel however considering we have a population of 25 million plus we are pretty lucky to have had just 28 deaths to date. Cruise ships are not welcome here as they are seen as a virus incubator and we have told 8 cruise ships to up anchor and sail away. Of course the Ruby Princess is still around and thats been the harbinger of many of our virus contractors and a large percentage of our deaths. Despite this we are doing well, however summer will disappear shortly and a cold winter may favour a virus explosion. Lets hope not.
My bets this week were just 14 bets for 4 winners, 2 placings and 8 who failed to return a divvy. No damage but hardly awe inspiring results.

As usual early selections will go up shortly and there will be adjustments, changes amendments etc etc when tomorrows scratchings and late mail are discovered.
Cross your fingers for a better day and a profitable result.

Well the one and only story doing the rounds these days relates to COVID-19. Very sad to see Boris Johnson in a serious situation with the virus and it goes without saying that we hope and pray for a positive outcome here. He is well liked in Australia; as we seem to prefer larrikans here and Boris has a good sense of humour too which adds to his likability ratings in Oz. On the local scene here our death rate has risen sharply to 51. Less than two weeks ago it was 13 so it has doubled and doubled again in that time. The really good news is that our figures are very very low in comparision with the rest of the world. And our curve has almost flattened completely so we are hoping that it wont be long before some easing of the draconian measures (necessary but tough) occur. Part of the reason we are so well placed is that all States and Territories are working in unison to defeat the virus. If it wasn't for those bloody cruise ships, which have now been given their marching orders to rack off, then our figures would have been even better.
If you are looking for a perspective its interesting to note that during our COVID-19 experience to date we have lost just over 300 lives on the road. And as stated our virus death toll is 51. One wonders if we have our priorities right here?
Enough of the rant and time to look at the Weekends Racing. But before I do I noticed that the percentage increases in commercial business's was released this morning and it was no surprise to see Food Retailers up by 15%, Alcohol up by 35% and the biggest increase of all at 67% was gambling. So that means that Australians are gambling, drinking grog and eating food, in that order. Nice to see the priority's are now correct!! This week my personal punts have resulted in 22 bets with 9 winners, 5 placed and 8 unplaced. Win strike rate of 41% is ball park.
There are some great races today, particularly at Randwick in Sydney, so relax and enjoy.

May you all stay safe and may the Gods of Punting look upon you favourably during these trying and testing times.

Well its another weekend of racing here which thankfully hasn't been impacted by the coronavirus. The impact of the virus here has been small in the numbers of deaths, just 65 in Oz and our Kiwi cousins have only 9 to date. Both countries have well and truly flattened out the curve so the question being asked here is now the time to start getting back to normality. I for one think that at the very least a short term trial should take place in say Western Australia and if that works well then softly softly we should slowly aim to return to situation normal.Last week we finished strongly with four out of four at Ascot and our four lay bets also did the right thing. Hopefully that's a good sign of times ahead.
This week I have had 29 bets whilst in Corona virus lockdown. Not much fun but essential if we are to get through this bloody virus epidemic. The tally is 11 winners, five placed and the rest failed to run a drum. The 38% strike rate is below expectations but not by much.
The early selections for Saturday are posted below and of course these will be amended and added to etc etc when tomorrow arrives with the late mail and a list of scratchings.
Please stay safe during these times and don't take unnecessary risks as the virus out there is a nasty one.

The subject occupying everyone's thoughts these days surround the Covid-19 virus. Here in Australia we are contemplating ways of undoing the chains and shackles that our Governments have imposed upon us as the lock-down continues and the virus looks like its tapering off. Our death rate totals 75 and New Zealand's rate is also very low at 16. Australia has a population of 25 million whilst New Zealand is just shy of 5 million. The steps that both countries took were swift and decisive and that reflects in almost identical pro-rata death rates. If you compare say the UK's population of around 67 million with total deaths of around 18,800 then you can quickly see how effective the Aus and NZ lock-down experiences have been. Of course being both island nations with large surrounding oceans has helped in terms of distancing us away from other nations.
Tomorrow is Anzac Day in Australia and for the first time we wont be allowed to participate in Anzac Day parades or ceremonies. But we will stand at our front gates at 6.00am tomorrow and play or listen to the Last Post and pay respect to the fallen.
If there are no early updates tomorrow its because I will be enjoying a quiet rum with the neighbours and passerbys so apologies in advance but I'm sure you'll forgive me if I don't update at the usual time.
My personal punting this week is down to just 17 bets with 5 firsts, 6 placings and 6 that failed dismally. A strike rate of just 29% means little or no profit this week so hopefully things will change tomorrow!!
Here are the early selections and these may be amended, altered, updated sometime tomorrow dependent of course upon the results of my sobriety tests.

Firstly thanks to PDC and Filthy Muck for their Thank You's from last weeks post. Its always nice to know that someone appreciates these rambling posts!!
On a serious note its very very sad indeed to see that some 27,000 UK residents have lost their lives to Covid-19. These are extraordinary times and I just hope and pray that life returns to normal as soon as possible for you all. The loss of so many is difficult to accept and our lives and the way we go about living will probably never be the same again. I dont see the normal friendly acts of shaking hands, hugging, kissing, etc etc returning as we have known it for quite a while. Social distancing will probably continue for quite a while.
Enough of the doom and gloom. Lets see if we can find our fair share of those elusive winners.
For the record my personal punts totalled 20 last week of which just 4 saluted, 7 placed and the other 9 failed to fire. Not a good result.
As usual here are the early selections which will be changed, altered, amended, etc etc when the scratchings and late mail are known.

Well another Saturday is all but upon us and whilst the world struggles with trying to control a nasty virus we will endeavour to try and find some of those elusive winners. Racing results here have been pretty ordinary in recent times if you are a favourite backer, however as the old saying goes there is a winner in every race, so we'll do our best to find them. Just for the record Australia is still under the 100 deaths number from the virus which is remarkable when you consider we have had some 7000 confirmed cases. Similar statistics have been achieved by our neighbour New Zealand who have a fifth of our population and a fifth of our death toll in just 21 deaths from 1500 confirmed cases. Whilst just the loss of one life is one too many it is quite a remarkable achievement by both countries in comparision to international numbers.
The really good news is that the University of Queensland has produced what is now the world's most likely vaccine for the corona virus and it has been confirmed by European scientists. We do have some bright sparks here who are regarded as the superstars of science so keep an eye out for further developments. These things do take time so the vaccine is not expected to be publicly available until early 2021.
On a personal note I can report that this week I had 21 bets for 7 winners, 5 seconds and 1 third and 8 who failed to return a divvy. Strike rate is still below the norm; just needed a few of those seconds to have tried harder.!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during these trying times and I hope that we all get pass these events quickly and we can get back to normality in the very near future.
Here are Saturday's early selections which will be amended, altered, changed or deleted as the late mail and scratchings are discovered.
Enjoy the day and please take care and stay safe.

Another weekend is upon us as we struggle with Covid-19 rules and regulations in Australia. We have six States and two territories here and they all have different rules and regulations about what you can and can't do. For example the Northern Territory is returning to normal....well as close as you can to normality considering you cant fly to an international port, and there are no normal interstate planes conveying passengers around the country. And if you leave the Territory then you are subject to lock-down and self isolation rules so best move if you are a Territorian is to stay put and enjoy a beer at your favourite pub or club, which is something the populace of other States and Territories cant do. Racing in the Territory has continued as normal at Fannie Bay and Pioneer Park, so the quality aspects of life which include a beer and a bet are now freely available. Pity the rest of us have to put up with a host of confusing rules that seem to change almost daily and our televisions give us talking heads who tell us the new amended rules in each State which simply confuses many, including yours truly. Needless to say if you break any of the rules you are facing a four figure sum if you are caught so you need to double check what you can and can't do so you don't incur a size-able penalty.
Racing in Australia continues in all States except Tasmania. Don't ask why Tasmania is the exception because no one seems to know why, except its a good example of the inconsistency of the lock-down laws!
The punt hasn't been kind this week. Have had 23 bets for 5 wins, 6 seconds and 2 thirds, and 10 unplaced.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as the UK struggles with what is a devastating virus that has resulted in large numbers of deaths. Lets hope that this ends quickly and we also discover a suitable and effective vaccine speedily.
As usual the early selections will be posted on here and these will be updated, changed etc etc as the late mail and scratchings are known.
May your punting day be a winning one.

Thought in view of the massive amount of sad news around the globe these days it was timely to insert a little bit of humour so we have something to smile about. Here is my pick of the jokes that are currently doing the rounds. Hope you enjoy it.

    THE PICKLE SLICER

Yossel Abramovitz worked in a pickle factory. Unfortunately, he had a very great and powerful desire to put his penis in the pickle slicer. This went on for years and Yossel couldn't stand it anymore. So he decided to seek professional help for this odd infatuation of his.

He spent a few months with a psychiatrist, who finally gave up and told Yossel that since Yossel's desire was so powerful to put his penis in the pickle slicer, the only way to get over it was to do it. Yossel gladly agreed to do it the next day at work.

The next day he came home from work very early, about 11:00am. His wife Sarah was very worried and asked why he was home so early. Yossel explained to her for the first time the desire he had had to put his penis in the pickle slicer. He explained that he couldn't take it anymore and today he did it and he got fired as a result.

Sarah gasped and ran over to him, yanked down his pants and briefs, only to see his penis perfectly normal and intact. She looked back up and said "I don't understand. What happened to the pickle slicer?"

Yossel replied, "I think she got fired too."
