Getting in early for Saturday's card as I am heavily involved in Saturday's national election so no surplus time to do the selections after scratchings and/or to include any late mail. There wont be any updates tomorrow and I expect it will be Sunday before the hangover evaporates and I can record the outcomes. Hopefully the running 2nd virus will have gone too as its frustrating to have to see so many near misses. Of course it also doesnt help the bank account either. Doomben has some quality races with the highlight being the Doomben Cup where a full field of 16 will vie for some $700K in prizemoney.
As mentioned last week I just cant pick Kenedna. I pick him to win and he lets me down. Then I leave him out and he salutes. So if you think he can win this week then he is in Race 8 no 12 at Doomben and maybe you can have better luck than I have had with this fellow!! Well Murphy's Law applied once again and Kenedna stormed home to win at $12!!!!
Here are the selections and good luck with your investments.

    DOOMBEN:
    R2 no 16 Guise 3rd
    R3 no 9 California Zimbol
    R4 no 1 Zoustyle Won
    R7 no 10 Chapter and Verse 4th
R9 no 15 On The White Turf

    ROSEHILL:
    R3 no 2 Mushaireb 3rd
R4 no 4 Star of the Seas Won $4.25
    R6 no 9 Rellem in Ruby 2nd
R8 no 6 Deprive Late Scr.

    FLEMINGTON:
    R2 no 2 Ocean Deep
R4 no 3 Big Night Out Won $3.80
R5 no 9 Begood Toya Mother Won
    R9 no 4 Mantastic Won $9

    LAY BETS:
MR4 no 2 Seberate Ran unplaced. Lay bet won
MR6 no 1 Sure Knee Ran 2nd . Lay bet won

ELECTION BET: Peter Dutton to win the Queensland seat of Dickson @ $2.30 or better WON

Well thank God the bloody election here is now done and dusted.Perhaps I can now concentrate on the business at hand instead of racing off at all hours doing roadsides, handing out How to Vote Cards and heavens knows what. Of course as per the last post good ole Murphy popped up and made a fool of me with Kenedna. Well that's life in the world of punting.
This weekend's focus remains in Brisbane where the main event is the Kingsford- Smith Cup where the runners will be absolutely flying (pardon the pun!!) I don't like the favourite Trekking despite the top draw and top trainer and top Jock. Its one of those horses that's a gunner and I think there are too many classy opponents for it to salute here, plus the field size of 18 wont help its chances.
Time permitting updates will occur as the cards progress and best wishes for a successful day.l

    EAGLE FARM:
R1 no 6 Noble Boy Won
    R3 no 2 A Man to Match
    R4 no 8 Savatiano Won $3.60
R6 no 11 Gem of Scotland
R7 no 10...each way chance at $14 or better

    RANDWICK:
    R5 no5 Kolding Won $2.60
    R7 no 11 Renewal Won $2.50
R9 no 13 Argent D'Or......capable horse with each way chance at $12 or better

    FLEMINGTON:
    R2 no1 Fidelia Won $2.80
    R4 no 3 Guizot
    R8 no 2 Steel Prince Won $3
R9 no 3 Poised to Strike....another each way chance at around $11,

    LAY BETS:
BR8 no 6 Trekking Started Fav Ran 3rd. Lay bet won
MR5 no 1 Tom Melbourne Started Fav. Ran 2nd. Lay bet won
SR8 no 4 Cradle Mountain Started 2nd Fav. Ran unplaced. Lay bet Won

Nice to see a high percentage of winners and of course the lay bets also did the right thing by us. Spotlight is again on Brisbane on Saturday so here is the early mail and of course this will be updated once scratchings are known.
I am going to put Kenedna back in and trust that Murphy has had his fun and for once I can get him in the right mood.
Hope you manage to find some profit amongst this lot.

    DOOMBEN:
    R4 no 6 Winter Bride 3rd
    R5 no 9 Plaque Stone Won $2
R8 no 1 Princess Jenni......gave good each way chance to No 2 Aliferous at around $9.
    R9 no 9 Kenedna....Won $4.40....give no 5 Tally a good each way chance at around $17

    ROSEHILL:
    R2 no 2 Our Echo
R3 no 3 Above and Beyond....rough chance each way at around $12
R5 no 9 Reelem In Ruby Won $2.20
    R8 no 15 Asterius Won $4

    CAULFIELD:
    R1 no 4 Wilmot Pass 4th
    R5 no 4 Ozi Choice.......currently $34.....long shot with a rough hope.

R7 no 3 Begood Toya Mother Won

Cant get one of those long shot selections up which always is the icing on the cake when it happens. Not to worry as the Lay Bets continue to perform and the odd winner or three are still popping up. Focus is again on Brisbane as the Winter Carnival continues. The time honoured Stradbroke Handicap is the feature race and that has attracted a maximum field of 18 runners. Winner looks hard to find but we'll do our best to try and find it.
Here are the early selections and these will be adjusted or/and added to once scratchings are finalised.
    Good luck with your investments.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R1 no 1 Plaque Stone
R4 no 1 Tactical Advantage....thought Noble Boy No 10 was the danger here.
R5 no 1 Ringadingding....love the name.....good chance here at set weights.
    R6 no 2 Strasbourg
R8 no 1 The Bostonian.........each way hope to No 4 Widgee Turf..and throw in no 13 Tyzone2nd for the trifecta.
R9 no 7 The Candy Man..... should get the chocolates here.!!

    RANDWICK:
    R3 no 8 Mr Wong 2nd
R5 no 6 Call Me Royal
R6 no 5 Argent D'Or.4th...rough each way chance at $13 or better
    R7 no 9 Deprive Won $2.50

    FLEMINGTON:
    R2 no 4 Kings Brook Won $2.60
R4 no 2 Not Enough Effort
R8 no 4 Iconoclasm.....very rough outside chance to No 5 Rock'n'Gold @$41 or better and throw in Carzoff @ $34 for the trifecta.

    LAY BETS:
MR6 no 11 Arty Lucas Ran unplaced. Lay bet won
BR8 no 5 Trekking Won. Lay bet lost

    Cheers n Beers.

Some poor results last week as the Winter Carnival in Brisbane concluded. Lets hope the move to Ipswich has positives outcomes for us this weekend.
Ipswich here has become better known as the home of tennis player Ashleigh Barty who recently won the French Open Women's title. Winners look well concealed at first glance but lets hope we can nab a few to make it a profitable day.
Here are the selections prior to scratchings.
Of course updates will be made after scratchings and as the day progresses.

    IPSWICH:
    R1 no 10 Angel Dane
    R3 no 1 EF Troop 2nd
    R4 no2 Tisani Magic
    R5 no 2 Traveste 2nd
    R6 no 7 Winter Passage...each way chance
    R8 no 11 Gaulois
    R9 no 4 Manaya

    ROSEHILL:
    R1 no 5 Rotator 2nd
    R3 no 4 Asterius 2nd
    R4 no 7 England ..2nd
    R6 no 7 High Bridge
    R9 no 2 Kapajack Won $.10

    SANDOWN LAKESIDE:
    R6 no 1 Dogmatic 3rd
R5 no 5 Beau Balmain....3rd..think he is a good each way chance at around $5.
    R8 no 2 Odeon

    GOLD COAST:
R3 no 4 Scarlett Hussie.....each way chance at $12 or better

    LAY BETS:
MR3 no 5 William Thomas Started Fav. Ran 3rd. Lay bet won

The least said about last Saturday the better. Only good news was that the lay bets continued on with acceptable results. Highlight on Saturday will be the Sky Racing Tattersall's Tiara which is a Group One race at Eagle Farm in Brisabne with prizemoney of around $500K. A full field of 18 will contest this one with the betting very open at $6 the field. Weather will be fine for Saturday in Brisbane however a cold snap has hit the southern states with minus temperatures being recorded around the nations capital.
Here are the early selections prior to scratchings tomorrow where the selections will be upgraded once scratchings are known as at least one selection here is a dual acceptor.
Hope this time you have an enjoyable and profitable day.

    R2 no 2 Kordia....Won $3.50

    R7 no 6 Vinland
R8 no 10 Savatiano.3rd.. and Egg Tart, Spright and Pohutukawa 2nd are all good chances.
    R9 no 9 Isaurian......each way chance around $10

Well another weekend beckons and hopefully the results will be profitable despite the wet tracks that are our current landscape. The winter carnival in Brisbane is now over so the spotlight shifts to the Sunshine Coast where there are consolation races such as the Sunshine Coast Guiness and the Caloundra Cup for those who missed out on their share of prizemoney from the Brisbane racing carnival. As I write this the track is predicted to be a heavy 10 so there is a 50/50 chance this program may be abandoned if more rain falls in the next 24 hours. Having said that the track is one of our more recent ones and as such drainage is better there than what is experienced elsewhere.
Winners wont be easy to find but we will do our best to flush them out.
As usual the fields you see here will be amended and updated tomorrow when final scratchings are known and the late mail has arrived.
    Good luck with your investments.

    SUNSHINE COAST:
    R1 no 6 Jeweliana 3rd
    R2 no 2 Tycoon Ace
    R3 no 4 Savacool 2nd
R6 no 14 Statuesquely......thought No 1 Leonardo Da Hinchi chance at $11 or better
    R7 no 6 Igraine 2nd
R9 no 6 Winter Passage...3rd..rough hope in the last at $20/1 or better. Same with No 2 Defence Missile at $21

    ROSEHILL:
    R2 no 2 So You Win 2nd
    R8 no 1 Bon Amis
    R9 no 4 Destiny's Own

    CAULFIELD:
    R4 no 1 Tell Me
    R8 no 2 Fragonard 3rd
    R9 no 4 Street Shiek

    LAY BETS:
MR1 no 3 Sizzlefly Started Fav. Ran 2nd Lay bet Won
SR8 no 4 Heart Conquered Ran 3rd .Lay Bet Won

Some very very ordinary results last weekend so lets hope that sanity returns tomorrow. In Queensland racing returns to Doomben so that should be helpful. As usual the selections posted now are the early ones and they will be updated as scratchings are known early tomorrow.
Randwick will be run on a heavy 9 track with overcast conditions so be aware of this as odd results often occur when the track is as bad as this.
Lets keep our fingers crossed for a good day on the punt.

    DOOMBEN:
    R2 no 1 Snazz 'n' Charm
    R3 no 1 Our Mantra 2nd
    R4 no 1 Amanaat
R5 no 13 Jami Lady Won
    R6 no 1 All Important
    R7 no 1 Apoloboom

R3 no 1 Buffalo River Won
    R4 no 8 Future Score Won $3.20
    R5 no 3 Rubisaki 2nd
    R6 no 1 Dogmatic
    R7 no 3 Milwaukee 2nd
    R8 no 4 Waging War........longshot with a very rough chance is No 15 Snipes....currently $71
    R9 no 1 Sure Knee 2nd

    RANDWICK:

Firstly thanks to Fil1 and PDC for leaving a "Thank you" message. These are always appreciated and welcomed as are any comments and suggestions.
Must say the last few weeks have been bloody frustrating and I'll be pleased when the winter curse is over and we can get back to some sanity.
The Lay Bets have been about the only area of consistency which is nice but not the object here which is to find winners at three different venues on a regular and consistent basis. Enough of the rant....lets try and find those elusive winners for this Saturday.
As usual there are selections up at this stage which are pre scratching time so be aware that the list will change as scratchings are known and the late mail arrives.

    R2 no 2 Phaistos Won $3.30
    R4 no 2 Primitivo 4th
    R5 no 3 Spiritual Pursuit

Well it's nice to see the selections return a small profit last week which is in contrast to recent times. The tracks are getting better as the winter here recedes and heads off in the direction of the upcoming Spring Racing Carnival which promises to be our best ever period of racing as competition between the States of Victoria and New South Wales for the top dog in Australian racing hots up.
Selections this week are prior to scratchings and I'll try and update as soon as I can on Saturday morning. My good woman has decided to buy a new car which we pick up on Saturday morning from the city which means I'll be battling to get back here prior to the first race. Not to worry, we will do our best to get the selections orderly prior to the first. I hope she who has to be obeyed is happy with her new Volvo XC40. Hopefully it will keep her out of my hair for some time....but I degress. Good to see the lay bets continue on with their run and lets hope that's the case for some time to come.
Here are the early selections prior to scratchings and updates will occur as soon as possible.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R4 no 5 Argent D"Or
    R7 no 1 Yogi 3rd
    R9 no 8 Yamazaki 4th

Well the weather is getting warmer and we are now back to the norm course wise with racing at their normal venues. Nice to see the lay bets continue their good run of late and whilst the other venue results didnt result in a profit we were thereabouts in most of the races which hopefully translates that we are on track for future success. I certainly would like to think that's the case.
Have been looking at some Jockey Statistics of late and its an interesting read. If you get a chance look up Tom Stockdale and Linda Meech and you will find that they are both very profitable if you were to follow them and particularly if you exclude their rides on those who are friendless in the market.
I have posted up the early selections however they will be changes as soon as scratchings are known and the late mail has arrived.
Time permitting, results will be posted as the races progress.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R1 no 2 Balf's Choice
    R2 no 1 Karaja 2nd
    R5 no 6 Borazon. Won $4.10
R6 no 2 Red Chase....No 3 Blue Comet 3rd is a rough each way chance at $21 or better.
    R7 no 16 Slow Hands 4th
    R9 no 3 Boomtown Lass

    ROSEHILL:
    R2 no 2 Pat's Nipper Won $6.75
    R4 no 5 River Bird 4th
    R6 no 8 Front Sight 4th
    R9 no 7 Prime Candidate 3rd

    CAULFIELD:
    R1 no 7 Spirit Medium....obvious danger is No 1 Can't Be Done 4th
    R3 no 11 Ballet Master Won $4.50
    R4 no 3 Fanciful Toff...3rd
    R5 no 3 Ripcord 4th

Thanks to a great comeback from one of our old favorites in Scales of Justice the selections managed a nice profit last week. Unfortunately it wasn't all good news as the Lay Bets Selections had their first loss for quite a while. There are some interesting races around on Saturday so lets hope we can pluck a few profitable selections to help boost the punting bank.
As usual I have posted the early selections which will change once the scratchings are known and the late mail has been delivered.

Another weekend of racing approaches and so does Spring as we see the return of some of our Spring hopefuls seeking the lucrative prize-money that exists during the Spring Carnivals. This year will be huge in terms of prize-money so the competition will be fierce. We have some heavy tracks around at the moment which isn't assisting assessing the form however we will do our best to try and pick some nice winners along with a few that are expected to fall short of the line in the Lays sector.
This week sees a rare Saturday meeting at Murray Bridge, a course to the east of Adelaide and one which has been recently upgraded. Horses climb to a hilly sector and then race downhill to the line similar to Sandown Hillside. Its a nice breakaway from the usual Morphettville meeting which is poorly attended with small fields and lack lustre racing as racing in South Australia struggles to compete with the prizemoney on offer at the neighbouring State of Victoria. I hope the meeting at the Bridge is a successful one as racing in South Australia is badly in need of an injection of new blood, ideas, and capital and that should be accomplished without the need to target the punter's pockets as they have done in the past.
Here are the early selections which will be amended/added to/adjusted or whatever once the scratchings are finalised and the late mail has arrived.
    Enjoy the day.

    DOOMBEN:
R2 no 2 The Tax Accountant Won $3.15
R3 no 8 Italia Bella....owned by a mate of mine (who also owns Scales of Justice)...good chance at around $10.

Well what a difference a good day makes. First up of course our much loved Lay Bets which last week totaled five selections all did the right thing and failed to salute however the outstanding pick was Our Mantra who was stepping up from a BM80 race to an Open class field which has proven to be a step too far for most in the past as a good friend passed onto to me early Saturday morning so it went in to the mix despite the fact it was a favourite at tomato sauce odds. History shows that it failed to run a place and was the first horse beaten so thanks to my good friend we were off to a flying start.
Then the icing on the cake arrived when the promising but under performed horse named So Si Bon lobbed at the juicy odds of $35.50. So six winners for win bets and five winners for the lay punters means a good day was had by all. Yes it doesnt happen often enough but its nice when it does.
This weekend will be a messy one for me as my youngest son is getting married so that means no updates once scratchings and late mail have been processed, and hopefully once the hangover has passed I'll get to record the results sometime late on Sunday.
Enjoy the day and here's hoping its a profitable day for you and thanks to BOG and PDC for their Thank You notes.

    EAGLE FARM:
    R1 no 1 Star of Michelin 4th
    R2 no 2 IlWendo Won
    R3 no 9 Macewen
    R4 no 9 Hold The Line 4th
    R5 no 4 Six Sigma 3rd
    R6 no 5 Capital Connection
R7 no 8 See The Master

    RANDWICK (KENSINGTON COURSE):
    R2 no 5 Wimlah
    R4 no 5 November Man 3rd
    R6 no 7 So You Win 3rd
    R8 no 1 Thy Kingdom Come 2nd

    CAULFIELD:
R4 no 6 Age of Chivalry Won $2.40
    R6 no 1 Lyre 4th
    R7 no 7 Behemoth 4th
R8 no 11 Mystic Journey.Won $2.40..thought No 1 Hartnell 3rd was the danger and no 9 Kenedna at $13 or better had a good place chance.

    MORPHETTVILLE:
    R5 no 2 Schilldora 4th
    R7 no 1 Scales of Justice 2nd

    LAY BETS:
MR2 no 5 Rat With Gold Tooth Started Fav. Ran unplaced. Lay bet Won
MR3 no 6 New Universe Started Fav. Ran unplaced. Lay bet Won
MR7 no 9 Begood Toya Mother Started $2.60fav. Won Lay bet Lost
SR7 no 6 Wrens Day Started Fav. Ran unplaced. Lay Bet Won
AR4 no 2 Defiant Dancer Ran 2nd. Lay Bet Won
BR7 no 1 Looks Like Elvis Started $4.70 2nd Fav, Won Lay Bet Lost

HOOFNOTE: Mystic Journey in Caulfield Race 8 no 9 is a very good up and coming performer. I have put it in as the top pick in the selections, however two of my best sources have potted it and have made it their Lay of the Day. The obvious danger to Mystic is the topweight Hartnell which has an excellent record over the course and distance and does have the services of one of our very best jockeys in Hugh Bowman. However Hartnell is a 9 year old and past his prime. I have therefore left Mystic in as top selection however be aware there are sources who are of the view that this short priced favourite may not be first past the post.!!

Well my son's wedding went well. Long day and night and lots of food and drink. Would have been nice if the results last Saturday were better but that's racing....one day we are in the Penthouse and next day its back down to the Shitehouse.
This Saturday sees racing in Brisbane move off down to the Gold Coast so we will be looking for front runners or those that sit up in the first four entering the straight as the Gold Coast has a relatively short straight which makes it harder for the backmarkers to win.
Here are the early selections and please bear in mind that there will be alterations as the scratching's and late mail arrive.
An update will occur as the meetings progress.

    GOLD COAST:
    R1 no 4 Miss Shanti 4th
    R3 no 2 Vaucluse Bay 2nd
    R4 no 7 Stellar Power 2nd
    R5 no 5 Amenzel 4th
    R6 no 4 Mail Escort....2nd @$14.50...good each way chance at around $10.

    R8 no 7 All Important

    RANDWICK:
    R2 no 2 Travancore 2nd
    R3 no 3 True Detective Won $2.60
    R4 no 5 Our Candidate Won $2.20
R7 no 1 Avilus..4th.. No 2 Happy Clapper is the class horse..2nd.also no 3 Le Romain is a chance at $20 or better.
    R9 no 11 Roheryn

Well I guess the highlight of last week's selections was Polemic who won for us at the Gold Coast at the remarkable odds of 20/1. He was drawn well, good form, and expected to be up in the first four at the top of the straight and had the Gold Coast's top jockey in Dan Griffin aboard. So one wonders how it managed to get out to $20 after ticking all the boxes! We will take it as the good result that it was and see if we can find another gem for Saturday.
I will try and get as much early information up today as I can because tonight I'm off to a formal do which is actually a Company Awards Night and a great excuse for a night out on the red wine. So I don't expect to be back on the keyboard until at least an hour after tomorrow's scratchings and late mail are through, because the night out will include a city bed and late breakfast and checkout. Anything posted am tomorrow is subject to the normal hangover rules and therefore you should be wary particularly if they have odd names like Reckless Choice, Dubious or Another Whisky!!
My old favourite Scales of Justice who won for us recently at $12 is back again at Caulfield stepping up to the 1400, which should suit.
Here then are the early selections and if the hangover has departed by noon tomorrow then updates throughout the meetings should occur.

    EAGLE FARM:
R2 no 1 Whypeeo.....2nd....thought No 11 Another Whisky had a rough place chance at $21 or better
    R5 no 5 Fortensky 3rd
    R6 no 1 Jagged Edge 4th
    R9 no 6 Reckless Choice 3rd

    ROSEHILL:
    R1 no 7 Scarlett Missile 4th
R3 no 2 Thy Kingdom Come
    R5 no 3 Bivouvac 2nd
    R6 no 9 Wolfe

    CAULFIELD:
    R2 no 12 Dawn Dawn Won $6
    R3 no 4 My Pendant Won $2.75
    R6 no 1 Ball of Muscle 3rd
    R7 no 11 Sylvia's Mother 3rd
R8 no 5 Scales of Justice Won $4.10
    R9 no 1 Nights Watch

    LAY BETS:
MR1 no 5 Exemplar Ran 2nd. Lay bet Won
MR4 no 3 Steel Prince Started Fav. Ran unplaced. Lay bet Won
MR5 no 9 Missile Mantra Ran unplaced. Lay bet Won
MR8 no 9 Begood Toya Mother Ran unplaced. Lay bet Won
MR9 no 18 Age of Chivalry Started Fav. Won $2.30 Lay bet Lost

    Cheers and Beers.

I suppose having the normal selections almost paying their way and the lay bets showing a small profit last week is okay from the point of view that our betting bank hasn't been harmed. It was great to see Scales of Justice dominate yet another race and there were some nice prices available before the big boys stepped in and backed it for a poltza.
One of my dreaded horses races again this Saturday in the form of Kenedna which i just have'nt been able to get my head around the inconsistency at times of this very good horse. I have tipped it again this week despite the fact that its a 12/1 shot as I write this because it has huge potential and third back from a spell should see it cherry ripe for this somewhat difficult assignment.
Thankfully this week I have no Awards ceremony's or weddings to attend and with the trouble and strife away I can concentrate on tomorrow's selections without distractions. And yes I did pick up an Award and also my son is now happily looking forward to a life of bliss (or so he thinks!!)
As usual these early selections are subject to scratchings and will be altered amended or added to as the late mail arrives. Time permitting I should be able to update as the various races are run.
Hope your day is a winning one.

    EAGLE FARM:
R2 no 1 Reckless Choice... Won $5.50. no 8 Trevelyan ...2nd is the logical danger
    R3 no 2 Clockwise...4th
    R4 no 3 Scallopini Won $2.20
    R6 no 6 Sienna Rose Won $4.20
    R7 no 12 Sanglier..Ran 3rd @ $25.mate of mine part owns this and he consider's it a top chance at $14
    R9 no 9 Mail Escort 3rd

    RANDWICK:
    R5 no 2 Libertini Won
    R6 no 4 Sunlight
    R7 no 1 Avilus 2nd
    R8 no 4 Dreamforce Won $4.20

    MOONEE VALLEY:
R2 no 1 Junipal.. 3rd..no 2 Century Arrow has drawn the car park but still a rough place chance at 33/1
R4 no 2 Haut Brion Heir. 2nd...give no 9 Victory Kingdom a rough chance at 20/1
    R5 no 1 Exhilarates Won $2.05
R6 no 10 The Inevitable. Won $3.10..hard to leave out no 3 Widgee Turf at $10.
    R7 no 4 Eduardo 3rd
    R8 no 15 Kenedna.....currently 12/1...long shot place chance no.1 Harlem at around 100/1
    R9 no 10 Royal Ace

    LAY BETS:
MR 3 no 6 Kentucky Breeze Won $3.10. Lay bet Lost

Well another Saturday approaches and with the advent of Spring the return of our better credentialed horses starts to happen. Last week saw a result that did us no harm so we live to fight another day. Of course dear old Murphy's Law struck with Kenedna with whom I have a definite love/hate relationship with. Its a good horse with heaps of potential and was backed into 6/1 from an opening market of 12/1. But because I put my hard earned on it, he decided that he was going to show me whose the boss here and ran a shocker. That's par for the course because if I back it, it runs a shocker and when I dont it runs and wins at juicy odds.
There is an interesting runner in race 7 at Rosehill today by the name of Arcadia Queen. Its trained now by Sydney's top trainer in Chris Waller and brings with it first class form from Western Australia. There is a big wrap on this four year old mare however I just cant get my head around the odds on price that it currently has in this race. Yes it does have a top jock on board and its drawn the pole however I expect it to get back to near last and may find the task of overhauling the leaders here just a bridge too far. Interesting to see how she goes.
Had the pleasure of attending a screening of a film entitled; Ride Like A Girl during the week and also meeting Michele Payne who won the Melbourne Cup on Prince of Penzance. Michele is now a trainer with brother Steve and they have a modest group of about 15 horses in training.
No parties or dinners or weddings to attend to this Saturday so once the scratchings come through and the late mail has arrived then final selections will be posted and its game on. Of course updates will occur as the meetings progress.
Hope you have a profitable day.

Another weekend of racing beckons and with the advent of spring the return of some quality racing follows.
There are two $500K races on the cards on Saturday the first being at Randwick where The Shorts sees top liners like Santa Ana Lane and Osborne Bulls open up their campaigns whilst at Caulfield the time honoured Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes sees the favourite Begood Toya Mother compete against some very good Group One competitors.
Long term readers will be aware I do have several favourite neddies that I follow on a regular basis. On Saturday these include Santa Ana Lane and Osborne Bulls which resume in the 6th at Randwick and Widgee Turf who will contest the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.
The chief cook has returned from a quick visit to the US & Canada so my me time is now reduced but not to the extent that I cant have a punt and update Saturday's results.
So here are the early selections which of course will be updated early on Saturday morning once the scratchings and late mail arrive.

Its nice when your homework pays dividends as it did for us last week. Highlight was of course Brimham Rocks which saluted at the juicy return of $37/1 and an additional seven winners and seven placegetters helped to make it a profitable day. The Lay bets also did the right thing and that boosted the returns for the day. Yes it doesnt happen often but it is nice when it does.
Melbourne racing heads off to Mornington on Saturday I think because there is a game of aerial ping pong that everyone in the State of Victoria has got themselves into a state of excitement about. If you must have a bet in this AFL game then back Richmond as they should win easily.
As usual the early selections are included here but there will be changes when the scratchings are known and the late mail has been received.
    Good luck with your investments.

    DOOMBEN:
R1 no 4 Sanglier....part owned by a mate who like most owners thinks this one will be a champion!!

    R7 no 5 Jonker
