yeah, i feel like greyhound markets used to be a bit more stable a coupll ee of years ago, but maybe its just in my head. markets will always change and we have to be able to adapt!.. I'm slowly getting used to just accepting losses without getting mad.
Just have to look at it in the long run, if we keep doing the right thing we will be profitable!.. Following your thread with interes, wish you the best!

    Day 5

Another small day for me, for some reason i make more in the first 3 hours of trading than i make in the entire day, i ussualy start having losses later in my session, the first 3 hours are usually without almost any losing markets, i make close to 20 eur and by the end of the day i am left with less than 10.. have to figure out what i have to change or improve!

    Day 6,7,8,9,10

Last few days heven't been good to me. One day messed around on horses and lost big, yesterday also lost on dogs. i'm still trying to figure out why i tend to give my profits away later in the session. ussualy some situation happens and i use too big stakes and dont take the loss when i do that and end up giving away all i worked for the entire day and then some.. And horses i shouldn't have even traided, was bored and the liquidity was low on greyhounds so i went in and traides some horses and made a total disaster! Hope i can figure this out soon!

    10 day results
    Greyhound racing
    Markets traded: 601
    Profit: €64.81

    Horse racing
    Markets traded: 18
    Profit: -€51.48

    Total profit: €13.33
    Bank: €27.14
    withdrawals: €8.00

Terrible 10 day result, i have to do better, horse racing result really messed this up!

Maybe you should take a break from trading horses, and focus more on greyhounds until you get your confidence back and build the bank. I had similar results when I tried to trade horse races in play, now I don't trade them. Patient and discipline.

On dogs I like the evening session more, for me it's better than morning session, I tend to make more mistakes when I start the day, need to work on that also.

Yeah i should not have traded horses that day. for me the day ussually starts good on greyhounds and then i make 2 big mistakes later in the evening that wipe out my entire days profit!

I had bad trades like this and what I'm trying to do, is to use same amount of money in every market that I'm trading. I'm trying to keep a standard. For example most of the time I'm careful not to open more than 1-2 clicks on the same dog. 1 click is 5 euro for me. It's not always as you planned, but this is my goal, to be more disciplined and be in control of my stakes, this I learned from watching other good traders videos like Bmj. Also Acg, Riconaut and others.... Everyone has his style of trading. Every day it's a learning process.

Also I learned, if it's going bad it's better to hedge as soon as possible and not to add to a losing position. I know, easier said than done, but it's the right way. If you are not adding money to an profitable position, than it's better not too add money to an losing one also. It takes time to learn all. There are always other races to trade. My conclusion, knowing how to trade is not enough, discipline and protecting the bank from bad trades it's important also.

Yes, most of the races canceled because of the weather, snowing everywhere. We took a little break from trading

    Good luck with the challenge!

    Day 1

    A huge FAIL

Sometimes i think i have a mental problem or something is wrong with me! Why do i do things that I know i shouldn't do?
Started off desent on greyhounds but then when the horses started, i got a bit bored as liquidity died down. And decided to take a look at whats happening in the horses! First race I traded i went in play for a failed back to lay, instead of taking the loss i added to the posision and lost 17 eur..Then ofcourse i was on fire with the red curtain covering my eyes and mind, managed to blow my 35 eur bank!! I deposited 20 eur!

Hello! Haven't posted here for a while! I guess i can say that my challenge has failed!
My P&L for the month is negative!
    Betting Profit & Loss

    Greyhound Racing: €56.17 | Horse Racing: -€99.91 | Tennis: -€0.13 Total P&L: -€43.87

I would be profitable if I have stayed out of in-play! the 100 eur loss on horses comes from about 3 big loses in-play!!
On the positive side, i have never felt better about my trading even tho i haven't made a profit this month..
For the past week I have been working a lot on the mentallity side of the trading, which is the only thing that is holding me back!
I have been watching all the Caan berry's and Peter Webb's videos on mentality and the way of thinking! I fugred that if I want to be like them I have to think like them! You will never see Caan or Peter geting angry because of a loss and laying a horse in play for half of their bank! Overall im feeling very motivated and i really believe i can beat it!
I also have decided to turn off the bank display! so I can't be affected by the amount i have made! I often have found that the day goes well and im in profit then i lose a little and there are a few races left and the profit is not where i wanted so i start to do stupid things!

If i Look at my in-play statistics it looks something like this:

    Net profit: -361.91 €
    Total profit: 23.12 €
    Total markets in profit: 1
    Biggest profit: 23.12 €
    Avg. profit: 23.12 €
    Total number of markets: 15
    Total loss: -385.03 €
    Total markets in loss: 14
    Biggest loss: -67.30 €
    Avg loss: -27.50 €
    Strike rate: 7 %

I should stick this to my wall as a reminder!!
My overall strike rate on horse racing is 68% in play is 7% and these are most of the in play trades! maybe i have skipped a couple, I just took the biggest losses and profits! And it doesn't look good! 385 eur lost in 15 markets, thats crazy!! and that's just this month, if i would look at all time it would be alot of money, i could probably buy a car with that money!

Trading it's more mental than having an edge. If we know how to trade but always make same mistakes, not accepting losses, chasing losses, lack of discipline and money management, that little edge that we have it's eliminated. There is not too much room for errors, so you can never let your guard down and get emotional. I try to remember this.

I also lost more money with these mistakes than anything else. Mistakes are made every day, but I want to be more in control and have more discipline. Everyday before I start trading, I set a goal to myself to never let a trade in play and accept the losses. Not working always but I try to be more focused because i know I will never be successful if I don't accept losses and never let trades in play - in play is where the most of the money are lost..

You learned your lessons and you will come back stronger!

The mental game is the biggest struggle for me! By nature i get angry very fast, so that is why becomeing a sucessfull trader may take longer for me than others, but i am working on it every day, and i know that eventually it will become a habbit to not go in-play and to remain calm no matter what happens!!

Yesterday there was some crazy gambler in the greyhounds and in horse racing! it was very easy to make good money and it was an opportunity that doesn't come around very often! As i was limited by my bank, since he was laying thousands and i couldn't do nothing about it, i desided to deposit 200 eur just for a day so i can build up my bank and then withraw that 200! The worst nightmare happened to me! I got so focused on looking at the ladder and i got caught in-play on the lay side 200 eur liability, and ofcourse the dog won! so now im deeper in the red! and im back to my small bank! such a disapointment! i ussually don't use such big stakes in the greyhounds, this time i did and got caught in-play! just terrible! Only thing that keeps me positive is that i did't blow my entire bank so there is hope to make next month green!
