    I had a time when I was thinking exactly the same thing, to 'double back' the dog that I had a small loss and go in play, but I never tried. You had good results with this ? At least for me, most of the time when I'm being caught or when I let the trade in play and I am on the lay side, that dog wins the race or will be in the mix for 1st place.

    Same experience when I traded horses in play. As soon as I started to lay a horse, that horse started to run.

    The conclusion is that it's better to be on the back side, so now I try to back first most of the time.. If you lay big odds , you win small, and when you lose, you lose big.

    No I didn't have particularly good results but it helped to stop the huge losses. When I lay I always lose a lot more than I'm comfortable with, at least if you back something for £10 you know straight away that that's all you can lose.

    It's always better to lose £10 or win £200 rather than lose £200

    The big questions is why we don't accept losses as part of the game? Human mind is strange in this situations. Nobody likes to lose, but if statistically it's proven that in the long run you will have more profit if you hedge every time win or lose, why we still let the races to go in play? Maybe because of the habit to think short term. I know all it takes to be a good trader, but from knowing to doing it's a long road.

    I know it's not a good idea to trade when you are tired, but I still did it last night on US horses and the results where not good. I had a big 62 euro loss that canceled my profits. I took some bad prices in play and didn't have time to hedge with a small loss and liquidity didn't helped either

    Stats Day 36

    Greyhounds - 44 markets -> +27.26 e

    Horses - 20 markets -> -23.52 e

    Basketball - 1 market -> +0.62 e

    don't trade when you are tired because you can make bad decisions

    Total disappointment - After I finished the day on dogs, went to US horse racings and in first race lost 100 euro. I don't know what happened, I clicked by mistake on the ladder and a 100 euro bet was placed at 1.03 odds.
    And I have activated on geek toy confirmation bets "safety" option, but this time didn't asked me if I want to place the bet :|

    Last 2 day I lost 120 euro on horses with mistakes. Now I need to recover....

    Stats Day 36

    Greyhounds - 38 markets -> +25.91 e

    Horses - 3 markets -> -95.20 e

    Basketball - 1 market -> +0.60e

    Good question. After all this bad losses on horses I'm starting to ask this question also. I guess I want to learn more about trading horses, big money are on UK markets, but unfortunately it didn't went as I expected so far. I hope I can improve.

    Leave the US horse racing alone...Focus on couple of things at one time. You are trying to do too many things at once. If you are making money at greyhounds and you want to build your bank just stick with greyhounds,then you can start adding more things later. Just my thoughts.

    You have a point. I think I just want to make it work on horses, this is my goal, to learn to trade in play, I saw other guys that are successful in play traders. But as you said, maybe it's better to first build the bank.

    Maybe take a day off if your not in the mood. You're on day 39, is that 39 consistent days? I'd recommend a couple days off and come back refreshed for the weekend. But, if you're anything like I was in the early days, there's no way that's gonna happen.

    You are right, it's time for a break. 1 week break

    I took only bad decisions and this time I lost on 2 consecutive racings - 110 euro
    Same mistakes - can't accept losses and chasing losses. What should have been 10 euro loss from first race, now it's 110 e

    I thought I would learn from previous mistakes.... but I was wrong

    That's harsh. At least you know that you can win it back.

    Stats Update. I kept the progress in a microsoft word file. I traded fewer markets as usual on dogs, most of them evening RPG TV races. For the rest of the challenge I will trade only RPG TV races and morning cards until horse racings begins. My conclusion is that I traded too much and lost FOCUS and made mistakes

    And no more UK horses, US horses etc. I will trade only in demo mode, only in play UK and Irish tracks until I learn.
