Yes, it's hard not to make mistakes, doesn't matter how much experience you have. The most important thing for me is to stay calm and focused and think that mistakes are part of the game.

I just lost 6 euro on a race because I was listening music and I didn't heard GT sounds and the market suspended. First I was angry, but now I'm more calm, I know I need to remain focused, and I will recover the loss without chasing it.

That is why I opened this thread in the first place - to have more discipline. One step at a time.

In the evening, we have many racing meetings, one every 4-5 minutes so there is not so much time to have liquidity and money starts coming in very late. It's hard to trade when there is no money in the market. The liquidity is affected also by horse racing markets, it's summer so there are racings until late. RPG tv evening meetings are better to trade on dogs, I try to focus on them more.

For me every race it's different, you need to pay attention at odds, graphs, market overview on GT, what dogs are backed more and what dogs are layed more, make your own prices and wait to see if it gets matched. Experience comes with time and lot of trades, I started to trade dogs last year and I'm still learning every day. Always have video or radio open when trading dogs.

Today was a busy day, lots of markets good for trading. Unfortunately what should have been a very good day ended with 3 big losses.

    1. -21.50 on dogs - the market suspended before I hedged and a 15 to 1 dog won the race...I was on the lay side for that dog

    2. -27.47 and - 28.28 on live horse racing. on both losses I was laying. first loss was after I lost on the grehound race and still was angry, and last one was on the last race of the day

3 races cost me 77.25 euro
and I had a such good the on horses today...but market gives, market takes....

As Icredd said, it's impossible not to make mistakes, but I think this mistakes could have been avoided if I would have been more careful on that dog race and on horses should have been more patient. But at least I ended the day in profit and I hope I will learn from my mistakes...maybe I traded to much today...and mistakes like this can happen.

Tommorow its a new day and a fresh start

Sunday was like a Roller coaster ride with ups and downs. Unfortunately I had 2 big losses on dogs today that affected the profit and loss

1st loss - 46.67 euro ! - I was trading a dog racing and in the same time I was paying attention at an in play horse racing and this affected my judgment. I didn't closed a 2 euro loss on that dog race, market suspended and I lost 20 times more! ... I deserve it, I knew that any dog can win a race, no matter the odd...

second loss - 15.26 euro - same... I had a small loss pre race, I didn't hedged, went in play , and dog won.

What I learned today --- If I let the guard down and I get relax I will lose money...

Going well mate. I've been following.. especially interested with the dogs trading as I've been struggling big time with it and had given up until I saw this thread as It give me new hope

what size stakes are you using? trading just the one dog or more? favourite or does it depend? any tips at all would be most welcome...

Thx mate. You need to trade many markets and with time you will have more experience. Greyhound markets are volatile, manipulated and unpredictable, but if you trade enough, over time you will start see some patterns repeating like when 1-2 dogs are backed, other dogs are drifting.

Everyone has his style of trading, some time it's frustrating when the price doesn't go your way, i think I made grey hair because of this. I don't win so much per race so my "secret" is to trade as many races as I can. Volume it's the name of the game for me

I don't trade more than 3 dogs at the same time, it's hard to focus, stakes are between 2-10 euro, I click more times if I see a good trade, I feel more comfortable with low stakes, big stakes on dogs are not that good because there is not so much liquidity. I usually trade dogs above 5 odds, but I trade the favorite also If I see a good opportunity.

In general it's better to make your own prices and wait to get matched. You need to react fast and be careful at time, have radio or live streaming open, you can fallow racing post site also.

Also there are here some very good greyhound threads + videos that helped me - Acg thread, Bmj thread. Riconaut videos on youtube.

    Good luck!
