    I thought £15 was pricey!
I'd expect them to fight down my garden for that. They'd have to cut the grass as well.

I guess the only fights I'll see close up are the one's down the local after happy hour.

    FROCH v GROVES

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/25074126

Great fight, terrible to see it end in such a way. I think the ref made a huge, inexplicable mistake.
Groves dominated rounds 1-7, Froch never looked comfortable. Round 8-9 Froch battled well and landed some sweet shots. It was shaping up to be one hell of a last few rounds, but we'll never know.
The argument that the ref has to protect the fighters doesn't hold up in this case. Yes, Groves was in trouble and wobbling, but that's boxing! If Froch had knocked him out with the next punch, fair enough. It was the first time Groves had been in trouble all match, Froch was in trouble for 7 rounds - including a first round knock down. The ref couldn't see Groves' eyes at the moment he stopped the fight so he couldn't tell how badly hurt he was. !!!!
Considering what was at stake, I think the referee should hold his head in shame. The Battle of Britain stopped because a fighter might take a heavy punch? He should have stopped it after 1 second then! Ridiculous!

Thanks for the awesome battle guys. Boxing authorities sort it out ffs!!

    Default Cobra v Saint

No doubt that the stoppage was the wrong call at the time. They may well agree a rematch, but the 'needle' has gone and Froch will surely not be caught cold like he was last night. Originals and sequels, etc, etc.

As the judges had it, if Groves had made it through round 9, two of the three had the contest even (Based on a 10-9 Froch, R9) - and as Groves' work rate was on the downturn, Froch would probably have collected on a majority decision - had both made the final bell (Surely 50/50 at best?). In that scenario it would be doubtful that Groves would have been offered the rematch - and maybe he wouldn't have wanted one - if, as perhaps may have been the case, he was punished for his earlier exertions during rounds 10-12.

The ref was pretty poor throughout - Froch had led with a forearm, Groves had used his head - and both boxers threw many a punch after the bell and the instruction to break! The stoppage itself was unique in so much as the referee secured Groves in a headlock before calling it off!

Sadly plenty of careers have been made and broken by bad refereeing or judges that don't appear to have been watching the same fight(s).

No such problems with the Pac Man - 12 rounds to zip!

Amir Khan is weeks away from his super bout against Mayweather.
Which may mean he's only months away from retirement.

Vitali Klitschko has vacated his world heavyweight title after being elevated to the status of 'Champion Emeritus' by the World Boxing Council.

The WBC took the move after confirmation from Klitschko that he intended to focus on his career as a politician in Ukraine.

The WBC claim they are fully supportive of the 42-year-old and his new status would grant Klitschko the right to challenge the new champion should he wish to resume his boxing career.

However, Klitschko insists he is highly unlikely to box again given his new role as an opposition leader in his homeland.

"This offer makes it theoretically possible to return to the ring, which I cannot imagine at all happening as things stand now," Klitschko stated.

All we need now is for Tyson to become President and then we can have a battle of the oap's. I make the Rusky short odds on.

British promoter's are wank,,if this is the best fight they can get for Fury, they want to start selling Littlewoods coupons...Using this fight as a warm up fight for a Chisora rematch just tells you how high these promoters are aiming, scared to leave the shores because the purse will be smaller..Complete crock of shat...

    Froch Groves 2

    May 31st.

I hope it's as good as the last and that the ref doesn't stop it after Groves' takes a couple punches.

    Should be good!
