    Hi Edgar,

we need a few new posters on here, so welcome

don't think there's any difference, might be a few more

    bots, hanging about, overnight.

Big money races are less volatile, as they

    are 'mature markets'

Last couple of weeks have been roughly similar to the two equivalent weeks from last year I would say. Early in the flat season it tends to less liquid and more volatile than later on as there is less form to go on from this season so punters are more likely to keep their powder dry. I'm guessing you've found it less liquid and more volatile than you remember most of last years flat season to be?

If it follows how it worked last year then should pick up soon

    Thanks guys, that's worth knowing.

I was so surprised to be able to make money, for a change, that I never thought of record keeping, so my memories of last season are a bit blurred.

As you say Baz, it does seem to me to be more volative with less liquidity than I remember. I'd better start writing some stuff down,

You can write to betfair requesting a P and L spreadsheet that they have for your account which shows your lifetime profit plus breaks it down day by day so you can see exactly how well you did on any given day in the past. Is useful for comparing times of year / weeks etc

Great idea Baz. I don't know which months (parts of the season) were profitable for me last year but it's got to be valuable information.

As for the questions, I honestly can't remember the liquidity and volatility of last year, sorry. It went a bit crazy through December (or was it Jan or Feb?) but they seem to have settled a little at the moment.

With Betdaq releasing their new manifesto, does anyone think a bit more of the liquidity will be going over there this summer?

    Hi B,

they have said that there will be more liquidity, they just haven't detailed how that will be achieved; so I suppose that the answer to your question is qualified "yes",

    cheers, MC

Just a quick update, Baz's advice was good. Although they took a week to do it, Betfair provided me with lifetime p/l. I never realised what a lousy gambler I was,

I got mine too, although they didn't break it down as I had asked (p/l per month from last year) so it wasn't that helpful.
