The liquidity has been apppalling fir the first round matches which is a shame but not unexpected, I am just waiting for the match between Alisa Kleybanova V Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova as Pavlyuchenkova is a player I will be following for the year as I believe she may well be top 15 by the end of the year. Current odds are 2.2 for Anastasia and 1.77 for Alisa which I believe are the wrong way around. The problem being only £2k has been matched so if the match does start heading off the other way then there probably will not be much of an escape route which I why I will keep my stake low and back Anastasia and just sit on the trade.

Game in progress now Melinda Czink V Lucie Hradrecka Czink was 1.40 at the start of the match won the first set and has just lost the 2nd set oth of them tight now I am not trading this game as I cannot find any coverage for it but if I was trading of the scoreboard then this is a perfect example of market overreaction, Czink better player leads the head to head 2-0 although both were on clay, was clear favourite and also has the advantage of serving first in the deciding set now surely 1.74 is a slight overreaction by fellow traders? Once again I am not trading it as I have no live pictures but I have to say I think she will trade lower during the last set than 1.74 (possibly also higher knowling womens tennis!)

Just remembered this.
On the US Open, last September, I was listening to IBM radio.
3-5 people, Englishmen, mentioned (via e-mail) that the UK TV
had a delay of a few seconds from the IBM - US Open radio,
they were listening online
(they didn't clarify the number of seconds).

If you are based in England, or even elsewhere, it's worth checking it out.
Keep it in mind. Maybe it will help you.

p.s. IBM will be in the Australia Open also, I heard in the morning.
I loved their radio n scoreboard (slamtracker) at the US Open.

Well the liquidity does not look that great so I will probably give trading a miss tonight and prepare for later in the week and also the Premier event next week. I have my trade in place from earlier and the other matches I was looking at were Szavay to bt Peng, Although Peng leads the head to head 2-1 both her wins were over 6 years ago and Szavay has improved alot although still sometimes suffers a bit of a mental collapse when under pressure I cannot see Peng putting her under enough pressure to cause her anxious moments. Henin V Petrova you could just see Petrova's face at the draw when she picked out Henin it was the toughest draw imaginable but I dont want to be taking 1.30 on a person who is making their comeback and will undoubtedly be nervous and I have no idea what her preperation has been like so will leave this game alone, was tempted by Petrova but the way she reacted at the draw suggests she might already be beaten. I do think she will trade lower Nadia but am not willing to get involved. The final match is the one I am most tempted to get involved in between Ana Ivanovic V Jelena Dokic I think Ivanovic is destined for a good year and can see her at some poing being back to number one in the world she had problems with injuries and being mentally fragile as she struggled to cope with the pressures and expectations last year but appears more settled this year, Dokic finished off last year by winning two ITF events and finishing runner up in the other but it is a massive step up to compete against Ivanovic and I suspect she may use this match as a gauge to where she is at with her her game and to be fully prepared for the Australian Open when last year she reached the quarters, last year she lost in the first round of this tournement to Amelie Mauresmo in two tight straight sets and I can see the same thing happening tonight.

I believe Safarowa-Wozniak will be a great opportunity to make some money by trading and I would start backing Wozniak. Ohh well, I know you may say all WTA games are great for trading yeah yeah, its true

Too bad I have other commitments and there will be no tennis for me this night.

Ok the competition starts getting interesting now Aleksandra Wozniak V Lucie Safarova should be an ideal match to trade on. Wozniak is a very powerful players with an extremely good serve and very much at home on fast courts while Safarova is no mug she will likely get frustrated by Wozniak's superior power, Wozniak also leads the head to head 1-0 with a fairly comfortable victory last year on a hard court and I think the Canadian will trade alot shorter during this game and is overpriced @ 1.96

Daniela Hantuchova V Agnes Szavay this has the making of a potential traders dream this one, 2 players who can look world beaters for a few games then suddenly play like panel beaters in the next few games! Szavay leads the head to head 2-0 but in both them games the first set was very tight before Daniela basically gave up in the 2nd set of both games. Of the 2 players I favour Agnes Szavay at the prices as I see it as a very even game and with Daniela priced at 1.62 and Szavay priced at 2.48 I would rather take Szavay as her price will certainly shorten during the match of that I feel very confident.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova V Roberta Vinci I rate Anastasia very highly and think she will comfortably defeat a limited Roberta Vinc who does struggle against power hitters but wont be trading her as she is currently a little short @ 1.52 as I have a feeling the first few games might be tight as sometimes Anastasia can start a little slowly but this is a game I will be watching and certainly ready to trade on.

Yeah, that was a great call. Anastasia VERY slow from the start losing 1st set 6-1 to win 2nd 6-4 and easy 6-1 win in 3rd set. I hope it was profitable for you.

Only one match of interest for me here tonight and that is Ana Ivanovic V Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and I feel strongly that Ana will win this. I am not trading it but it is a match I will watch as it sould make fascinating viewing to see how Anastasia who I believe to be one of the best youngsters around equips herself against who I think will be close to the number one in womens tennis this year.
