Apparantly a lot of BF accounts have been broken into recently and people have lost a lot of their balances where the hackers made ridiculous bets with their accounts etc. This was on the BF forum but they pulled it cos of the bad publicity. BF are refusing to refund those affected. I don't know the whole story but if you've got excess cash in your account its a good idea to withdraw now, and a change of password is obviously a good idea too :)

You should keep an eye on the My Security section of the My Accounts page accessed via the Betfair Website. That shows the last 10 attempts at logging into your account and the IP address, if it was successful or not and the country from where it was attempted.
If you see something there that shouldn't be report it immediately to Betfair.

This probably was just a matter of time. Hacked sport-exchange accounts are probably the easiest way to get money in your account with almost no trace.

Problem being, it only shows the last 10 login attempts, and on checking mine, those 10 are within 10 mintes of each other, from the right IP address. My suggestion, is that the Toy logs in multiple times, maybe all API software does? Either way, once you log in, your last 10 logins are effectively wiped out.

The Toy does make multiple log ins to Betfair.
It makes one login attempt for every call it needs to make in parallel to Betfair.

A disturbing thread:eek:
Don't panic would be my advice:cool:
Reduce your daily deposit limit , keep a regular eye on your security details and report any suspicious behaviour either on here , to TG or Betfair themselves;)

You're right HKF no one need panic, I should probably have said 'some' or 'a number of' betfair accounts have been hacked into, not a lot, certainly most wont be affected but worth being vigilant

An odd issue raised it self many years ago with BTP, where someone that used BTP reported that his account had been logged into from guatamala or where ever it was (memory fails)
I checked mine and flipped out, withdrew all my money and posted a response that even by my own standards was pretty harsh!
Of course Adam was off hunting in the great outdoors for a few weeks so we only found out later that it was where the server was located that logged you into BF, It was unknown by most back then that that was how BTP worked with multiple logins!
You know I'd forgot all about that untill this thread:rolleyes:

Be aware logging into betfair word cup promotions can show a different IP address in the security section of your account.Gave them a call tonight after seeing a different number.I was told this had been the cause.
