Apparently Betfair will have to comply with a new French law, and close all accounts based in France.
Now, that is very sad news for our French compadres.

If Germany follows, I am pretty sure all smaller E.U countries will do the same, unless BF comes up with some major lobbying or a masterplan, or could it be they are happy with their home based UK customers?

I think it's against the spirit of what the EU wants with gambling. So I think the other countries won't follow that fast.

I know the Netherlands have been getting some crap for not allowing other casino's within their borders.

I am not a football trader however if I was I would be watching the French markets very closely. I guess any serious trader could get around the issues above but could be interesting to have a look at the volume and how much of it is sharp money.

Are you sure it's so easy ? My guess is your account must be registered from valid country with your address and credit card issued outside France....or am I wrong ?

you should beable to set up a UK bankaccount quite easily providing you have access to a UK address, if you indian or pakistani then wey hey happy days ! French then well even though your about 40 miles away if you got no friends or family happy to accept post and forward it on, then no not so easy! however why do you need a Uk address? many other countries are still allowed! and the EEC being a community getting an account in another country shouldn't a big task!

Then there is the access which is where the VPN/S comes in, a UK or none banned country based VPN/S should keep you safe! you access through that keeping your true location shielded from BF!

Not so Simples I know but cheaper than migrating to another country!:p

Just make sure the people who help you are those you can trust ! pref family!
