View Full Version : Where are Settings and Custom Colours Stored?

I have taken advantage of the break in trading to do a clean install on my PC.

I have got my old settings from the toy and want to copy them over to my fresh installation of the toy.

I got them, prior to wiping my operating system and reinstalling it, from:

c:/program files/The Geek/A Geeks Toy/Resources/Settings

and

c:/program files/The Geek/A Geeks Toy/Resources/Colour Schemes--custom

However, I can't find these folders now I have downloaded Version 1? Where should I put them? Has the location been changed in Version 1?

Any help most welcome!

Hi mate,

By the looks of it the folders are stored at

C:
ProgramData (not Program files)
AGeeksToy
Settings

and then it has folders here for each individual profile I have setup so I guess you put the files here.

I've not done any custom colours myself but there is a folder called "Colour schemes custom" at

C:
ProgramData (not Program files)
AGeeksToy

so again I guess you place the folder you have in there

(this is where the folders are on my vista PC anyway)

Regards
Mike

I could not find my program "data" files, apparently they are hidden by default in Vista,so googled and found this:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files

I can see them all now!

Regards

Microsoft cannot even get this correct:

Control panel > Folder options > View > Show hidden files and folders.

Cheers guys - just tried this after getting back from the pub and it works spot on - perhaps something that should be added to the user manual!

Merry Christmas!
